One of our core issues is that we haven’t retired any of our older premiership players, we’ve let them leave (retire) on their own terms. We’ve failed to make the tough and timely decisions on these players and it’s been hurting our list development over the last few years. It will happen starting this year but is about 2 years too late.

If you retire them all at once you end up with disaster like the Hawks

Clearly the article is supposed to quell the feeling coming from all corners that we are being deliberately f**ked by the umpires at the direct instructions from the AFL. My guess is after Robbo yesterday correctly assumed that this is the case, the boy's club told the paper to put out an article saying that it's all down to the way we play.

Up to a point. Miller until late in that game has been good defensively all season. The way the ball came in under no pressure late in the game made it very difficult on defenders. Until then both Tracey and Amiss had not done anything more than you would expect from a midfield that dominates. But of course they pick the two easy examples after a 100minutes of football, as Lloyd in particular does. Remember when he called Pickett a faux tough guy for giving a cheap shot and not playing tough himsel. Of course the footage was edited and did not show that Pickett went back to the player and apologised and gave him a hand up. Other examples as well. Also, Miller is a great kick, the thing that has made May so good.

Young bar WC game has been good and is really improving of late and is also a very good kick of the footy. We have Gibcus who will be back next year. They are all young and developing. Can always swing Balta back if need be, especially now that Lefau has come on so well. Imagine if he had the midfield delivery Freo had on the weekend. Lynch is due a change of luck.

I think quality rucks are harder to find, but Nank is playing very good footy and will have both Balta and Lefau to chop our as second rucks, means no more dodgy second rucks/forwards. Would like to see us draft a good young ruck this draft.

We will have a top 2-4 pick this year, that means a very good young mid. Look at the mids North have picked up the last two year.

We are a disaster so i call rubbish.. Our biggest problem is we lack leadership and mainly from the next generation guys like Nakkers, Bolton, Rioli, Baker, Broad, Short and so on. We are a poorly drilled team and there's absolutely no excuses for these guys. After leadership issues we then lack depth as we don't bat deep into the VFL anymore. It comes down to trades, drafting and development and we lack in all three. Yze has a mountain of work to do with our FD and he's going to need to start from the basics and that's player discipline first. We are an absolute rabble atm.
