What I’d love to see is Draper remain sub, Murphy replaces Rachele and Nank to half back with Laird replacing Crouch. I doubt even Nicks could deliver such joy, but if any man can, it’s him.

Nank potentially plays more of a hybrid forward/wing role, I dunno, just spitballing and hoping! He was preferred in the last pre season game over Murphy and then was named equal BOG last week by our coaches.

Anyway, I would’ve loved to see Taylor getting a gig over Murphy, I’m not defending that garbage.

Whether we win or lose is absolutely not coming down to selecting Murphy or Taylor or Pedlar (and I wanted Taylor in). Rankine, Dawson, Soligo, Thilthorpe, Fog etc are all determining whether we win or lose most weeks.

We shouldnt go over rating GC. They smashed the Eagles which any side above 15th should do, and Melbourne are a basketcase and totally cooked. They lost to the Kangaroos, remember that.

It’s not that I’m overrating the Suns, they still have issues including like the crows do with their wingers, also have a lack of decent tall support for King up forward and are a bit short down back with Ballard’s ACL but playing up there on the GC with the strengths they have in their team and the Crows missing Murray, Rachele and Crouch it’s a ridiculously tough assignment.

If we cant overcome just 3 injuries with a complete reserves list to choose from then we have no business being a rated side. Its that simple. Good teams win! mediocre teams make excuses. If we lose and I hear but we had Rachele, Crouch and Murray out as the reasons then we have problems.

If Nicks came out and made an argument about keeping shape, it wouldn't even make sense this year. Our shape in 2025 has looked nothing like our 2024 ball movement. And Murphy hasn't been on the park in any of these (somewhat pleasing to watch) 2025 games.

I think I specifically predicted there was no way we'd pick him. I'm sure it's there 2 or 3 days ago. How humbling - I was sure he'd be 6 or 7 down the pecking order.

This might be delusional, but Murphy had his best year in 2023 when our ball movement last looked good? So he might at least get more of the ball at least
