I went to Marion but had left by the time you started.I went to Daws Rd high in year 8 in 1984 and hated it. Changed to Marion high after that. What years were you at Daws rd?

That's exactly what's going on though. Pedlar for example is clearly ahead of Murphy as demonstrated during the pre-season by selection choices. Murphy is an emergency for this game, Pedlar plays SANFL. Same I'm sure is true of Nankervis. He's not going to be in the 23 but it would be wrong to assume that he's more than 4 players deep to make the team.
lol, just when you thought Nicks might be becoming less of a ****wit.
I thought Pedlar was considered next in before Murphy?
Premiership teams carry spuds, look at the list of spuds with a flag. Of course your team needs to bat deep with quality (which ours finally does), but it can carry one if it comes to that.Of course it makes sense. They don’t say your top 22 win you a flag, doesn’t matter if your 23 is shit.
In a close game, having a dud in the side could make all the difference. Surprised your even arguing it.
Strange defence you’re using to accept a crap decision, but I suppose you had to find something.

Everyone has been saying that for the last 4 years.I hope he (Nicks) won’t give Murphy as much leeway as before. He is coaching for his career. He needs results.
Hopefully there will be “encouragement” to move on from him (Murphy) if he doesn’t perform. I’m sure they’ll give him a couple of games, but with adequate replacements, he’s on thin ice.
Should Tex be rested for this week?
Everyone has been saying that for the last 4 years.
But here we are

Firstly I'll just say there's plenty of things Nicks has done that frustrates me and I don't agree with Murphy being brought in over several others. Not at allWhat we've seen so far is what the improvement to our list has brought.
We're yet to be tested in the coaching department
.......
Disappointing: (but not surprised)
Draper only got one CBA, ideal game to get him in the guts with Dawson/Rankine/Crouch all down and/or tagged.
Our coach is still our biggest impediment.
Nicks is 100% coaching for the now. Win now. Experience matters.
That's it. That's all he's thinking.
He's such a simpleton.
Crouch is out. Our one inside mid bull is out - in a game with the AFL's best in the role. So we bring in an undersized (and shit) defensive forward and a half back flanker?
Why not bring Bond in for a tagging role on Rowell? Bond has the engine, strength and determination. Draper comes in for Rachele and plays forward with some spurts on ball.
Nank to the sub role.
Would make us much better than the current option.
We’ll drop this game. Not because of Murphy directly, but because of the mindset that picks him. Don’t deserve to win.
Frampton was important in their GF and played his role. They also had zero options.Premiership teams carry spuds, look at the list of spuds with a flag. Of course your team needs to bat deep with quality (which ours finally does), but it can carry one if it comes to that.
No one is going ‘yep, Frampton sure was crucial to Collingwood’s 2023 flag’.
Ideally Murphy is nowhere near the team, but it’s not changing our ability to win this week or go deep this year.

Ok I’ll dumb it down for you, if you had a choice between the better player or the spud, who you going for to help you win the game, the player or the spud?
And doesn’t matter if it’s the wrong option, BACCS logicWhomever the club selects will be the right option.

We know what Murphy brings, sweet **** all."Don't deserve to win", what utter nonsense. Selecting Muphy has absolutely nothing to do with the mindset coming into this game. It's just the depth chart at work.
All this says is Murphy is either first or second drop when it comes to small forward replacements, depending how we are planning to replace Crouch. Seeing Peatling would be the standout option there to get extra minutes, especially as I'd imagine we'd loathe to shuffle any of our small defenders at the moment.
Well the other thing that it says is Zac Taylor might be cooked at the end of the year.
Go back to last season & count the number of times Murphy's opponent was best on ground or near to best.If you’re relying on the worst player in your team to win a close game then not enough of your stars have stood up. Our stars have been playing well for us to be 3-0, it’s got nothing to do with the bottom couple in the 22 (carried Milera last week for example).
He’ll come out if there’s no injuries to any forwardsWe all know Murphy will stay in the team even after Rachele returns because Nicks is obsessed with him
Also averages 2 disposals in the 4th quarter. It's a game that will likely be close, we actually need someone to contribute.Go back to last season & count the number of times Murphy's opponent was best on ground or near to best.
It makes for scary reading!
Get on Rioli having a huge game...
Just have to chuckle at the posters dismissing concerns about Murphy getting selected this year, round 4, first injuries and he’s in.We’ve got this team now with a lot of dynamic players. Fast, line breaking, skilled, flexible, good in front of goals.
Spud Murphy is the antithesis of that.
