This board: I JUST WANNA SEE EFFORT
north: show effort
This board: RAAAAAAAAA

That wasn't effort, that was a sugar hit that didnt even last 4 quarters. That was a response to being shat on all week so they can revert back to the norm next week and coast for the rest of the season on their money contracts that we hand out like free stocks.

Face it. This clubs been taking the piss for years and its certain players that have hoodwinked die hards that its raining. Well i stepped outside after a near decade long slumber and I'm not happy getting pissed on every week by a crop of frauds.

We lack a real driver through the ground to hurt teams. Needing Waite like linking. Maybe its Duurs.
We lack any hurt factor.

We don’t punish opposition mistakes and we give away easy goals through idiotic mistakes.

We are a dogs breakfast.

Having Arch back gives that backline better structure because you know he will do his job.

Rioli did **** all except for an infringement he got away with.

18 contested possessions
11 clearances

He had one bad moment where he gave them a goal.

Can't believe the shit I'm reading here RE: LDU. Was comfortably his best game of the year and he was in our best 5.
Give it up Soupster - LDU is no where near the class of the best mids in the comp - and he got badly found out again tonight - just like he has all year. He just isn't at the level you think/hope he is.

Got in at halftime after work, and to be fair that’s the most excited I dare say Adelaide based supporters would have felt in a long time.

Thoughts purely from a second half perspective

We had them under the pump and our pressure at ground level once we got the footy in our forward line was great.

Our backline had multiple instances where Hardeman and FOS marshalled the troops and rolled position so much cleaner and efficiently than we’ve seen in the past.

George is a beast.

It almost clicked. A few more like that and we stay in the game til the end and we will all be more confident and excited.

Focussing on the positives after the last few weeks - can’t wait til we have a couple of extra quality options on the forward line that link up and take their opportunities.

Fair few bombs to the same spot and blokes all competing at once rather than a bit of craft and making space.

PC is a jet.

I felt like Clarko gave the kids a little bit more of the keys today and we showed in the second half that if we keep investing in them we will be in for a hell of a ride

For once can’t complain about the run we had, but they did sure shit the bed with the critical non-blocking call against Rioli.

Easiest call on the ground and four of them just ignored it and it was the goal that made a difference.
It was embarrassing for them, that is the perfect example of their incompetence. How we celebrate an award voted by these imbeciles at the end of the season is beyond me.

Ok

Simultaneously much better and also insipid. I was wrong when I said Port would put us to the sword in the second quarter and we deserve credit for working our way back into it from the second quarter onwards. Lost the game in the last 10 of the first quarter unfortunately.

We ****ed it up going forward so many times. Probably pretty lucky that Port played terribly.and gave it back to us a lot. Got very lucky with umpiring decisions on a number of occasions thought the umpiring was as bad both ways as I've seen all year.

Curtis just irrepressible. Best small forward in the competition. Pound for pound the strongest small forward in the competition as well. Really smart, really clean, gets to dangerous spots. Would be stunned if he isn't in the AA conversation. Only really Higgins is doing anything nearly near what PC is.

Wardlaws mental. Has such a massive impact on the game in such little time. I just feel comfortable whenever he has the footy that he's going to do something sick with it. The goal was unreal. We need to start getting him some wins.

I'd make X captain for the JHF stuff. Takes it personally. Really got on top of Sweet as the game went on. Great contributions.

Parker played well. Sheezel was a lot better than he has been.

The stats say LDU had a pretty influential game but I didn't feel it. He felt like he was moving in slow motion a number of times particularly when he's chasing a loose ball. Certainly far from our worst but I didnt think he was a massive impact on the game.

Powell was meh. Daniel the same. McDonald was awful played undersized. Comben and Dawson battled and ultimately let themselves down at key moments.

McKercher was better. If he slots that one at the end I'd say it's a good days work. He actually looked to take the game on and be attacking which is far more his go and encouraging we were able to free him up a little more to do so.

Tucker didn't touch the footy while Rozee was influential off a HBF. He absolutely has to be dropped. If he keeps his spot I will be absolutely astounded. I don't know how you can possibly claim he's worth playing against the Bombers.

Zurhaar was not good. Can't be dropped though. Larkey won't have a worse game for the rest of his career but he's not going to be dropped either.

We still move the footy too slowly. We don't generate overlap. At the very least, we stood up under significant pressure from a relatively good side and were right in it at the death. Sucks to lose but it's not the 100+ it might've been.

Jy, Larkey, LDU, Zurhaar, McDonald giving away the 50 - its the senior core who repeatedly cost us.

With no Corr and Logue today I almost wonder how’d we go sans Jy and McDonald in the side.
Would we be cleaner?
Would there be no manic turnovers?
Could kids run forward of the ball knowing the play won’t be stuffed?

Probably true but goes to show which players are holding us back and which ones will take us forward. Actually it’s always been obvious.

Every game there is a Simpkin turnover that costs us momentum. I don’t know if it is enough to take the captaincy off him and give it to Parker for the year, but I would be tempted if I was the coach.

Anyway, I can’t find the stats for the last quarter, but at one stage we didn’t have a single clearance. The game there as well.

And Wardlaw / Archer, when you’re both playing, I can see the North sides of yesteryears.

Missed calls like that are Exhibit A on why we don’t need 4 of them.

What value is the 4th umpire contributing other than diluting the quality and making the game even more inconsistent.

If we went back to 3 that is 9 of the shit campaigners that are not required.

If we were serious we would have traded zurhaar to West coast for this very reason ...

At worst, we'd still have our first pick this year 👀
It absolutely staggers me that we gave Zurhaar big coin.

We have plenty to play his position. Starting with Duursma and after that we have Eddie Ford, Cooper Harvey, Payne. We have his position covered.

I have a question

And this is not about Toby Pink. Please consider Corr or Logue or even Wil Dawson as an alternative if you desire.

What does Kal Dawson give us?
Seriously.

He's not an experienced KPD. Played loose at Willy.
He's older than Toby Pink so it's not as if we are playing the kids.
He's not as strong as any of them, except maybe Wawson.
And he has no cohesion whatsoever with Comben.

Someone explain to me what I'm missing with Kallan Dawson's selection after that performance tonight.

Thanks
