That adds up to 15 goals for Collingwood, so someone's been 'dudded'!!:The Numbers:
Young forward Charlie West added another three goals to his season tally, bringing his total to 12 in just four games.
VFL-listed players Sam Glover (25 disposals, 12 intercepts) was influential, while Josh Browne (23 disposals, two goals) and Tom Wilson (19 disposals, six tackles, two goals) were also commanding.
Mason Cox (19 hit outs, two goals) and Oscar Steene (16 hit outs, six score involvements) were impressive, while Harry DeMattia (18 disposals, five clearances) stood out on the wing.
Collingwood will now look to their second home game of the season next Saturday, where they’ll face Footscray at Victoria Park (2:05pm).

What about being eased under the ball everytime he's attempting to mark in the forward 50?, not only in the AFL but VFL defenders?. I don't put much credence in tap work, it's what they do around the ground that's more important and that's where he's struggling this yearUse the brain man, do you think the players orbiting his feet might be slightly better in the AFL than the VFL? Not surprised in the slightest some people can't make the distinction.
that was the MST shocking umpiring i have ever seenFinishes 24-17, so essentially 20-8 in the last 3 quarters
I think they might be trying to train him up as defender ...He came up against another young ruck in Visentini, and did a good job.
Smit should not play as a defender - he has no idea.
At least if Cox gets the callup to replace McStay, Roo will spend time in the ruck, as he should.
Steene can play forward when Roo is rucking.
I think it's more of a case of where else are you going to play him when Cox and Steene are both in the team.I think they might be trying to train him up as defender ...
And the likes of Curtis Taylor and Josh Bennetts yet to playI think it's more of a case of where else are you going to play him when Cox and Steene are both in the team.
The VFL team is looking good this year - you can see the style of the AFL team in them now for the first time in years. And they look like a team that wants to win rather than just a development squad. We had two good kpfs and a good ruck forward - Smit up forward with some chop out ruck minutes and getting in the way of the actual forwards isn't what we needed.
If the senior list has a clean bill of health and you get a couple of inside mids like Titch and Sully back into that team, they'll be awesome. They're going really well despite the mids getting done around stoppage. Allan will look much better too - he's a receiver at the moment and not a first possession contest player. And the likes of Curtis Taylor and Josh Bennetts yet to play
Maybe Tommy McGuane after national champs
Tom Mitchell hopefully not far away
AJ in a month
Allan really struggled at stoppage last night. I’d love to know the numbers of CBA but HDM looked better in there than Allan. Def agree he’s a receiver. I’m prob being overly harsh on him because I want to see him kick on. Would like to see him using his speed to gain space for better use. He’s still doing a lot of terrible handballs out of stoppage. Would kill us on turnover in the seniors. If the senior list has a clean bill of health and you get a couple of inside mids like Titch and Sully back into that team, they'll be awesome. I'm not really an Allan fan, but I do think that you're being a bit harsh on the handballing - the seniors - including Nick and Pendles all do that blind forward searcher at times under pressure - it is too much of a go to for Allan though.Allan really struggled at stoppage last night. it’s def an instruction to gain territory, just think some of the boys including Allan take it to literally. He's very passive and not suited to being the inside first touch player. Looks good on the spread and seems to have nice vision. I'm not as hopeful as I was, but could see a WHE type role for him as a link playerAllan really struggled at stoppage last night. I actually really enjoyed Parker's game, thought he was very clean and had some clever touches. Not sure how he fits in at afl level but could see a back pocket role when it comes availableCoxy has been super reliable now for some time, close to BOG last night through his efforts in the final quarter.
IMO, Jiath, West and Allan were the most impressive of our young crop last night. I would have had Cochrane in that group too but he faded in the second half.
Dean, Parker and Steene next level in performance down.
I'm finding it hard to see AFL traits in Demattia and will be watching the Smit experiment with hope and interest.
Unlike others, I don't see a gun mid at all, but if he gets his running patterns right and tidies up his kicking a bit, he'll be a good outside role player. He's very passive and not suited to being the inside first touch player. He's got a lot of class. I don't know how good a runner he is, but his football skillset would be good on the wing or as a running back, if he can do the kms.I actually really enjoyed Parker's game, thought he was very clean and had some clever touches. It's nice having a not terrible VFL team
Absolutely - as you say, they're starting to emulate the seniors in style. Think that will be great for making the transition from 2s to 1s smooth when we inevitably need to call on them. Also serves as a little cherry on top for the weekendOur talls and flankers are really good. Get everyone fit and then have Sully and Mitchell in there and win both the AFL and VFL.
