Prediction Changes v Cats (Thurs 22 May, 7:30pm @ Alphabet)

Started in defence as he has been since Darcy went down.

Bramble came on as the sub - hence we had one defender too many.

Wing is far his best position imo.
His heat maps show the only 2 games where he played significantly back were Port Adelaide and Gold Coast and even then it was well under 50%.

5 of his 19 possessions this week were back 3 were pushing back as a winger, data suggests he has not been playing more than 50% backanytime and a hell of a lot less when not counting the 2 games mentioned

With the inclusion of the sub it makes things abit easier and less cut and dry when replacing players.
The sub replacement is not about replacing individual players in any way, it is about providing backup anywhere if needed inclusive of adjusting the best 22

Exactly if we replaced Bramble (sub) for Poulter positions are less relevant given the 22 is likely going to need to be shifted around anyway depending who is subbed off.

Was the email that usually goes out to Geelong based members to buy tickets sent this year? Bloody impossible to get a seat.

Yep, nothing really available.

There were a few sections with 3 seats in a row and i tried to get 2 and it wouldn't allow me because it would leave a single seat.

Stupid system... considering there are single seats all over the place

Poulter went at 47% and 4 turn overs against GC Bramble was 69% and 3 turn overs

Neither should be anywhere near the team
Baz goes at worse than that….and poulter looks a bit like Baz….maybe whack a big white headband on him and confuse the shit out him

How do we get the win. Motivation will not be a problem..

We back the class of our midfield against theirs. A clear advantage to us in depth of class in the midfield and advantage to them in speed. Tim has been in good form and has clear advantage in giving us first use over Blivacs. To get the win we need win the midfield battle clearly. If the cats break even here they get the win.

How to handle that bloke with the headband to be fair he has been in great form. We have options Red who can match him for speed and get him the other way. Libba would be in his face or Kennedy playing a more defensive role. Not sure but Kennedy did a great job on Merritt so maybe him although the bloke in the headband will get more help.

The other big danger is Cameron. Up the ground I would go Bailey Williams when he is forward Rory gets the job. The last part of the puzzle is lowering the eyes when going forward and do not let Stewart play lose.

If we can get most of the above right we will get the win.

The cats can have a Baileys on ice and I will enjoy a nice cold beer when I get home from the cattery.

I completely trust Bevo to put the hoopla of Smith to the side in the planning of this one, for mine limiting Max Holmes is our number one priority and not letting their smalls get off the chain (Stengle/Close/Miers). The Cats also play a unique style with their mids in that O'Connor, Atkins and Mullin can/will all play negating type roles, our midfield depth should hold us in good stead though.

O'Connor has been playing as a pure half back since he returned to the senior side, has been in great form and had career high possessions on the weekend.

Mullin is playing as a tagger and has done well v Daicos and Butters in the past three weeks, I suspect he'll go straight to Richards.

Can see Atkins and Libba going head to head, wouldn't want to be the Sherrin coming between those two...

I had a look yesterday and there were a lot of seats together up the back in C43-45, those sections are blanked out on the seat map today. Keep trying, it changes all the time.
I also went into Lowest Price and Best Seats (scrolled down from the most expensive). I clicked on any of the seats offered and input 2 tickets or 1 adult & 1 child and it always brought up 2 seats together. Areas A38, A46 & C40 for example. All of those were $174 for 2 adults or $122 for an adult and child. Can’t find anything cheaper at the moment. Of course there’s also more expensive seats available.
Unfortunately this late we can’t be too choosy about where we sit if we want to go.

I would be backing West to do the job on Stewart if Stewart plays. West is very good at playing on the intercepting defender as a defensive forward and has limited players like Stewart in the past.
Is Stewart even fit?

Let Mullin go to Ed. That will be hard with our midfield defence applying blocks and opening up space.

A Bailey Dale tag could be something Geelong try and IMO that will be more likely to be effective.

It's so refreshing to have JJ fit at the moment. It's likely some people don't realise just how important that is. Tag Dale and the play simply goes through JJ. Delicious.

I'm all for tagging and have wished we did more of it, having two taggers in the midfield (and potentially a tag on Dale aswell) plays right into our hands. Teams can shut down Richards all they like, the other mids will burn them, they can tag Bont but he will just roll forward and kick goals. As soon as you play 2 or 3 dedicated taggers against decent teams your own offence suffers, it isn't like our midfield is Richards/Bont or bust.
My only concern going into this week is our injury riddled forward line and even that has been humming.

Forward line has been good because the spread has been great. Plenty of goals from the midfield has been key.

They aren't worried about our forward line because "SDK will kill Naughton again" but it is the spread that does it, and our all ground defence has been solid

SDK has been a shadow of himself. Alot of Cats fans prior to the Port game were going hard (and way to over the top) on SDK.

Even though it’s only round 11, this could be a top 4 critical game. Both these teams have a friendly fixture at the backend of the season. Both sides would be happy to get a small break on the other.
