Erasmus is growing before our eyes.

17 disp @77% efficiency, 8 contested, 4 clearances.

That doesn't include all of the 1%rs he does. He isn't the full package and still has a fair way to go but the game time is really aiding his development. Who the hell comes out for Noddy?

It is amazing what a run of games and some confidence can do to a player rather than being last in first out all the time. Same with Worner.

Why would you change it?
First of all, it sounds great, has a much stronger connection to the area than Fremantle.

Secondly, Fremantle was named after a British bloke who wasn’t that great of a human being and has no connection to the area, which is problematic in itself.

When we are surrounded by suburbs like Beeliar, Yangepub, Willagee, Booragoon etc. I don’t see why we don’t follow suit. And that’s just in the general area - not including a whole host of other suburbs with their traditional names.

Also if old mate was decent and had an actual connection to the area, it definitely wouldn’t be as problematic.

Doesn’t flow. Can’t shorten it. Freo sounds great. No problem having it for indigenous round but no need to rebrand the whole club.

Still undefeated as Walyalup. Change the name already. **** the racist haters who disagree with me and everyone else on the pro Walyalup train. Toot toot mother****ers

Keep Freo but **** Fremantle right off
and then once they lose as Walyalup?

We came into the comp as Fremantle... It's not a racist thing... in fact renaming an organisation based on one culture is pretty much racist.

The two teams that play in the Dream Time game don't even change their traditional club names?

8 games as Walyalup now, still haven't lost a game.

Just change the name permanently.
I totally agree… wouldn’t mind that, lose some monkeys etc, but as us Aussies tend to, we’d be caned with abbreviations like the “Wally’s” or worse…. “Where’s Wally?” etc etc…. but I’d still take the punt, great to watch!

Lose some monkeys? Why? because we want to stick with what we first started with?
The history behind our original colours, jumper is to do with the history of Fremantle?
If you want to change the name then might as well get rid of the "Dockers" as well...

Seems pretty ridiculous because we haven't lost 8 games under a name?

We never lost wearing the Freo unions Heritage strip either - why not bring that back?!

Erasmus and MJ aren't worldbeaters (yet) but they can at least break even, are big bodied with young legs and not exploitable. Midfield looks as balanced as it ever has. Jackson in the ruck a big part of that.

Sharp is the only position that concerns. He tried to go hard early but he's just not good in a contest. As the winter months come his weaknesses will become more glaring.

He kicked 4 goals a game and… got let go by Melbourne for being too injured or streaky or something? Weird. Would like to hear more about that
1 story I heard from my uncle who played with him in Kal was he got run out of town for stealing cash from the players wallets during a game

Claremont changed their name twice, East Perth were the Unions, The second Fremantle FC evolved into South Fremantle, Imperials into East Fremantle, Swans dropped National out of their name in 1980 and West Perth were the merger of the Victorians and West Australians to form the Metropolitans.

If you are a traditionalist, then changing names is very normal.

I feel the midfield lost battle early. Especially in the first quarter.

This is concerning, as it has happened multiple times.

Erasmus and Johnson were solid. They continue to take good steps.

Amiss and Voss continue to work hard. Both are taking good steps forward.

Devo for Simpson. Finally found his spot in AFL.

Chapman was elite. He was big in my eyes.

Jackson is great as a pure ruck. Voss is good as a forward. A half fit Darcy should not be near the best 23

Great win, unfortunately Pearce will have a little holiday, but other than that everything else went pretty well.

We don’t usually turn up in the wet, but the difference is this time we had players with good skills like Reid, Dudley and Bolton all playing… they were all elite.

Give Murph a 10 year contract now!

And… I’ll say it again, we look so much better with Jackson as the number 1 man. Give him the keys, don’t bring Darcy back.

We were also really physical, across all 3 lines. Lots of bollocking work around clearances and in the air.
