Look some times top teams have bad games against lowly opponents the key is that good teams can play bad and still win..... Which is what happened today, were we good? For large chunks of the game, No but we did enough to win in the end. We'll probably learn more from that game than the games against Sydney or Richmond where it was piss easy downhill skiing

Watching Nicks talk about Rash gives off 90% ACL vibes and praying that the 10% chance is a Sam Darcy type injury, could still be season over for him but may not impact next year like an ACL would
I wouldn’t take much out of anything Nicks says. He’s an idiot.

Strange post as he had one of his best games for the year today.

Yeah I addressed that shortly after.
Yeah, maybe this thread wasn't the best place for criticism after today's performance. More a general thing going into finals or he may take it easy. Some players you do need to keep them hungry and I think he's one of them.

Our forwards need to learn how to get in front of quality defenders.

Lever and May are quality and they really exposed this flaw. Especially in q1.

Yes our guys bombed it in a bit, which should actually help Fog and RT both being good high ball markers.

But the was.a lot of good I50.kicks the defenders picked off purely because they read the ball better and got font position and held it.

A combination of all of that. Our disposals inside 50 were atrocious, their defenders played great games, I didn't think we competed hard enough at times.

Tex just doesn't want body contact. The only time he did was when he got the mismatch when Lever left him.

A win is a win, hopefully Rach is ok…it’s hard to believe Adelaide is above Geelong
We've beaten all the teams we should which has put us in a good spot. Geelong are a better side than us overall, but they do have the tendency to lose lowly opponents like the Saints and Blues (two bogey sides for them for whatever reason).

I thought it poor that when asked how Rach was Nicks said he hadn't seen him yet.

I can't think of a more important job for the senior coach following a game than to seek out a player who might actually be seriously injured.

Poor leadership unless there is a reasonable explanation.

I think he meant post game, he would no doubt have seen him at half time

Speak for yourself. If my daughter brought home Lachie Murphy after a date, I’m confiscating her phone, deleting all her social media pages, and moving interstate !!!

Better watch yourself man, do that and you might find the Murphy Missile flying in and taking your head off when you least expect it!!

<<snap!>> :p
I boiled mine with added stock powder, then mashed with crushed garlic/butter/cream ...:sneaky:

You?
No, a bit more old school.

Loads of butter and salt and pepper.

Murphy 2 touches in 30% gametime and Taylor 5 touches in 70% gametime. I'd judge it a draw for worst on ground.
For a tie breaker it might have to come down to which one was playing their 17th game and which one was playing their 119th.

From what Peatling had said after the game it sounds like they may have taken him straight in to get a scan, so Nicks wouldn't have had a chance to talk to him at that point.

Peatling continues to impress, what a surprise packet he's been.

Fog and Sog looks like they have gotten a bit of form back.

Curtin shows glimpses of brilliance, he is going to be great to watch over the coming years.

How good was Murphys one kick and one handball for THREE turnovers, that's pretty special even for him.

I'd love to see how we'd go with a proper coach, can't help but feel we have hamstrung ourselves.

Really happy with Rob’s game and thought he got the better of Gawn.
Loved Curtins determination as he lost his battle with Langdon but kept persevering and had some great moments. Hard for a young fella to do that and we are lucky that he is a great talent and could be anything in the future.

Milera being a late out should have been replaced by Chayce. On what planet is Murphy a like for like replacement?
It would of been handy to have Edwards there as an emergency, he could have slotted right into the Milera role as he has been playing that role in the SANFL. But he wasn't even an option as an emergency, despite some good form this year.

Out of those who were actually named as an emergency, Bond should have been the one to come in for Milera, but our genius coach played him today in the SANFL and decided Murphy was the only option to have there available at the game.

Gawn smashed ROB in the 1st half but got the better of Gawn in the 2nd half. Made a big difference to us in the midfield. Clearly fitter than Gawn.
