“I’d like to report 23 missing persons and pre-emptively report the murder of Michael Voss”

5 yrs!

Geebus, I would've been executed a long time ago.
Thank God there's someone ****ing normal here

I come on this thread to have a good laugh at the blues and Voss
But wether it was meant to be a joke or not, death threats are not funny, especially in social media

It's not a death threat at all.

After seeing the message, no wonder the police didn't seem too concerned. Badly phrased dumb joke, but the humour not directed at the prospect of Voss being murdered, but at the rabid Carlton fan base turning on their own.
Feel bad for Voss, having a shit time of it, and wouldnt be nice reading something like that about yourself. Dont reckon he's a great coach but hasn't been backed up by the club or players. Reckon the AFL is a bit nervous after the defacing of the club, so a little bit of an overaction by them and the media about this. Uncalled for, but I've seen comments just as bad on bigfooty. Wish it wasn't a Collingwood supporter because I'd have the same opinion on this even if it wasn't.

As I said in the other thread. It's a joke that Mick Molloy or Sam Pang would tell on The Front Bar, and the audience would burst into laughter. The AFL is so sensitive.

Yeah. Nuh.

Mick Molloy would not " pre-emptively report the murder of Michael Voss”. There's a difference between "funny" and "buffoon".

As mentioned before, the phoneline that was used for the "prank" exists for serious reasons.

You clearly don't watch The Front Bar. I've seen worse humour on there.

Sam Pang’s joke about ND’s most difficult opponent during the Big Freeze show. That went down like a led balloon.

This one peanut has made us deflect from hanging shit on Carlton to fighting amongst each other. Now I'm pissed at the campaigner. :tearsofjoy:
Guaranteed the guy is a privileged buffoon. Deserves the ban.

I don't watch that show, but I do know that Molloy is a clever guy.

The point is moot. Even if Mick delivered that line as part of a comedy segment on a TV show, he didn't text it through the "report an idiot" hotline at the G whilst drunk. Completely different context.

I mean, the euphoria of smashing them did funny things to all of us. I just taunted my dickhead mates but i dont think i threatened to kill them. That may have been a bridge too far seeing as they're already dead inside

Yeah fair point. This has thrown me now its a Pies knob that's done it. Feels like im trying to defend an absolute tool that has embarrassed us, and himself, more than anything

Yep, but funny nonetheless.

After finding out what the joke was, I no longer feel any particular concern for Voss. The supporter made an embarrassing drunken text in all likelihood. 5 years is overkill, come on.

Sorry for the intrusion, but I agree that this was just a spot of risky humour. All hotlines get nonsense messages.

It seems to me that the MCG security have told Voss of a possible threat, without giving him the actual wording. Some transparency early on would have prevented this media hand-wringing.

The first clue was the police saying 'meh'.

He didn't threaten to kill him!

It's a ****ing joke FFS!! Perhaps you consider it a tasteless joke, I don't.

His only "crime" AFAIC was using the hotline.

5 yrs piss off!!

True, I do eat pieces of shit for breakfast.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Everyone agrees it wasn't a real threat. I would have thought that the actual wording was made clear to Voss early on, especially since the police got involved.

He didn't seem to find it funny, and more than anything else that's what matters.

Yes it was just a stupid, clumsy, drunken text sent by a dighead Collingwood supporter, but it upset the Carlton coach; who I'll reluctantly admit is a human being.
