Actually what happens if we can't field a team. There still 24 hours for a few more to drop
I am actually seriously thinking of this but within the next couple of weeks. Say 2-3 are overtly injured tomorrow night then news of more injuries are drip fed leading into the next match and that continues for a bit. Lucky we took all our picks in the MSD. Hopefully we aren't travelling by aircraft soon. If they are switched on Geelong will kick a world record when we go to GHMBA.

Next week, Caddy into the midfield, McMahon and May key forwards. Yee haw!

Barham or Vozzo actually need to issue a statement. This is unprecedented and alarming. It obviously won't change anything, but they are supposed to be in charge of a professional organisation that is looking like an absolute clown show.
What are they going to say ? Scott has already said they are reviewing it .

I don't give a hoot. But they need to be the face of responsibility and to tell the members what the state of play with the 'review' actually is, because this is f****** ridiculous.
Why can the head coach not address it ? It is a football department issue. It does not need the CEO and President jumping in until the review is done. Why the **** would you announce results of a review that is not finished ?

Because the situation is unprecedented and they are the leaders of the club.
Who said anything about announcing results?

Brad Scott is one of the leaders is he not ? Everyone knows there is a review. What we need Barham to stand there and say yes we are having a review ? the next question will be what results do you expect. Answer - we will not going to be making any comments until we have all the information. The coach has already announced we are doing a review. He is the guy who handles most of the media. Seems more like you are chucking a five year old tanty.

No, I'm being pragmatic.

If your organisation is looking more and more dysfunctional as the days go by, and you are supported by paying members, at some stage there's a tipping point where they should be obliged to tell those members a bit more than 'We're having a review', such as;
  • what exactly is being looked at
  • who is conducting the review
  • when results can be expected
  • why it has taken this long begin a review process

If you don't think so, fine.
There must be a line where the executive takes the responsibility of being the face of the organisation out of the hands of the coach.
I would also prefer he doesn't have to worry about that stuff so he can focus on coaching.

Wholeheartedly agree, too long have AFL clubs just played the political game without actually giving answers.

‘It’s being looked into’
‘It’s under review’

Doesn’t cut it.

What you’re hoping for; is someone to get on the front foot like Eddie Maguire. Straight batting it or clipping it nonchalantly over mid wicket off your toes.

What you’re really getting; is a club always on the back foot since Sheeds departed, ducking under bouncers or compulsively hooking it somehow to silly mid off.

More Graeme Wood than Matthew Hayden.

Yep. The longer it's ignored, the worse it festers and the more likely people like Caro are to invent stuff.

- It’s a review of the whole high performance department. Which will likely encompass medical, strength and conditioning, how hard/when they train, how hard/long they warmup for before games.

- Vozzo is doing the review

- The results are expected by the end of the season. Then they will be able to act upon it if there is a problem and get new people in if required.

- The review didn’t start this week, or last, or the one before that. It’s been going on for a fair while (I’m not sure exactly but I think six weeks or more). Important to remember that Draper, Bryan, Edwards, Hayes and Jones all didn’t suffer soft tissue injuries, it was over the bye period that Parish, Redman and Langford all had issues when people really started taking more notice. I’m sure when Parish sought independent medical advice on his back earlier this year, they would’ve started looking into it then.

We’re going to go into the offseason not knowing what this guy was capable of in the AFL. I think that is a real fail when you look at where our list is at.

We do know what he is capable of and and its not much. He certainly doesn't bring skills, fitness, defensive efforts, marking, goals, speed or physicality. He's only capable of clearance.

I certainly don't see it as a fail on the clubs part that he hasnt been able to cement he's spot. That's on him. But sometimes the player just isn't good enough. If he was, he'd be a regular.

From what I've heard he has worked extremely hard on he's deficiencies, but has hardly improved. Sometimes people just don't have it no matter how hard you work. You need the talent and natural ability to go with the hard work. He's only talent is clearance.

We know what he's capable of in the big time. He's had more than enough time and chances now but unfortunately he just doesn't cut it.

They should extend Murphy's contract for stability.

Well maybe I can work out what a review of the whole health and fitness department means without having to have it explained step by step.

Had 2 more marks than Durham, was one of only 4 goal scorers, 5th overall for metres gained all with 20-30% less game time. A serviceable performance all-round in a game that did him no favours in terms of support and how bad everyone was all while coming off no proper run of senior games no less.

He's deserved a chance for that run ahead of a few for a while now and would have done him good for ongoing improvement. We certainly stifled his potential so far with how ineptly we've handled it and that's an indictment on the club.
