But, we are frauds of the hugest order currently…how much is inexperience is anyone’s guess, but within games and week to week our ability swings around more times than a weather vane in a cyclone.

This is true. If you played Fyfe or Youngy in whatever Banners' role is, you'd get a guaranteed 23 game season out of them every year.

Oh and can anyone tell me why when we started to sink in the 3rd why Fyfe wasn’t subbed on?
To have him run on 10 minutes in the crowd would have gone nuts, players maybe lifted.
Instead we get no fanfare, slips on quietly at the break, wins it from the center, gives to Erasmus who kicks it straight back to Brisbane, air goes out of the game.

I kinda knew we were going to lose tonight... Which is why I'm not as upset as everyone on here. This loss has kinda been on the cards for awhile.

We're simply just not good enough yet. We're missing top-end class and experience that the better teams like Geelong have. IMO, we're about 2 years away from being realistic contenders. If we're still being fumbly, stagnate, and making dumb mistakes in games in 2 yrs time, then it's time to change the coaches.

I'm not making excuses. we've had a bad night. In fact we've been winning but we've had a bad month. I've wanted the coach gone for ages so I am just treading water.
But I still want us to make finals. Longmuir is keeping his job next year regardless of whether we finish 9th, this much is obvious. It's depressing for some, but it is what it is. So we may as well have some positives and play in the finals. It's just bad for the club that a guy like Treacy has never played a final

We were shitting bricks coming in to this game, we built it up so much internally and you could tell. Brisbane came here, no emotion, did what they had to do. We are very emotionally immature, too giddy and happy with ourselves after games like last week and then we shit ourselves when the lights get bright

I think a lot of people forget that Football isn't just a game of skill and fitness...

Desire, Attitude, Mentality and Smarts are probably just as important IF not more important.

Whilst I agree we are very emotionally immature - I look at the fact that we still have a bunch of children making up our line up. I mean - we all love him when he's kicking goals - but Vossy's motivation to lay off the piss this year is a thousand dollar bet with Brayshaw? That's the motivation? Not a premiership cup?

We also have a lot of senior players whom I don't believe are mentally strong enough to take us to the step.

People are either pro JLO or anti JLO - If I had a preference? No he wouldn't be our coach - not with the team we currently have. We've come from behind multiple times to win in how many occassions? I wouldn't be satisfied with that if I was a coach - I'd be saying - we shouldn't be in that position to start with!

Unfortunately this is going to be another year of such promise but no result - What do you do? I don't think JLO is an inspirator - like a Bevo or Fagan - The guys need to ask themselves next year "Why not us!?"

Fyfe gives a half decent retirement speech as does Walters - saying "Lets win this f#cking cup!" and we turn to water...

Also saw a lot of desire from our side.
They just couldn't hold their nerve.

And as much as I love Fyfe.
I am happy he won't be there next year.
He hasn't offered much for 5 years now & it's time for the next generation to take us forward.

I agree with everything you say... Except - I feel sad that Fyfe stayed with us when he could have gone...

Not saying I didn't want him to stay - but you honestly now have to question - Why do you want to play for Freo?

Hayden Young signed a 7 year deal - Is he going to be "another" out of stater that misses out on that premiership.

Is Fyfe going to ask himself in a couple of years "Geelong came calling... Collingwood cam calling... I could have been a Brownlow and Premiership player"

I admire the players that have stood by us thick and thin... but tonights team performance... What a lack of heart and respect

We've been shitting the bed on big occassions for 4 years at least. Even jlos one finals win was a big comeback after shitting our pants. No one has seemed to learn much at all
