Of all the issues we saw last night the woke flogs are worried about booing an opposition player. Pathetic.
I love how the anti-woke folk see WOKE as a bad thing and use it as an insult. It was a shitty look to boo a player who wasn’t offended by what Rankine said nor the one who reported it according to what has been said. He also happens to be indigenous. Houston was the instigator of the targeted attack on Rankine and while he got booed, it wasn’t as loud or as sustained as Quaynor. It was a shitty look. Sidebottom didn’t get booed at all… why? Wasn’t he the one who intimidated Rankine?

If Rankine was copping all this supposedly bad treatment in the game that was obvious to everyone and so deserved boos, why didn't anyone boo Quaynor during the last game while it was happening?
It's very hard to hear what the players say to each other tho

Quaynor was targeting Rankine in Rd 23 and getting stuck into him all last game.

Has Quaynor been boo'd by our crowd before? NO.

I love how hypocritical you, old Jen and cromulent are. The boo police. Thank god you guys are here to tell us exactly who can be boo'd and for what reason.

How exactly am I being hypocritical?

I’m all for a home crowd creating a hostile environment, and booing players that leave your club or do a dirty act against one of your players is part of footy.

But tonight, a lot of us booed a guy for no reason other than that he was the victim of one of our own players poor decisions. It’d be like if West Coast supporters booed Andrew Brayshaw.

I also think that if you don’t care what the rest of the footy world thinks then that’s okay, but you should care how that impacts the gay Adelaide players, staff and supporters. What message is that sending to those people?

Should hear Jodie on Nova this morning. Has called our supporters embarrassing, disgusting and a few others.

How fun is this gonna be?
As soon as the club vehemently defended Rankine, this was an inevitable reaction from the crowd.

Us arguing that there were mitigating circumstances, that Rankine was targeted, the KO from Houston last year was referenced etc

The club tried to help their player. Defended him, pointed out that he was targeted by Collingwood players. Fans followed suit.

Shaved a week off the suspension but this was the cost. Going to have to ride it out, cop the negative reflection on the club and fans.

Mac Andrew - antagonises TT gets under his skin. Okay to boo.

Quaynor - antagonists Rankine gets under his skin. Not okay to boo.

Hypocritical.

Its definitely on Mac Andrew level.

Frampton got boo'd too. Plenty of people Boo.
So for our supporters, ‘Mac Andrew was caught being a continuous dickhead to Thilthorpe’ (which I’d wholeheartedly boo Mac for) is on the same level as ‘Quaynor apparently sledged Rankine on a non-personal level, which caused Izak to say a homophobic slur’?

There’s a time and a place

Brisbane 2019 - first finals series in a decade. Home Qualifying Final against Richmond (flag winners from two years prior, and written off earlier that season due to form lapses). Brisbane got absolutely smashed. Went out in straight sets. They lost 3 Prelims after that, before getting to a Grand Final, losing it, then winning a flag. That flag was a ten year project and took 6+ years of finals. They're contending again this year too, obviously.

This is why we need to be Top 4 contenders, for multiple years. Random lightning-in-a-bottle flags very rarely happen.

We need a better midfield to do this.
Yes unfortunately I think it is going to be a long road to a premiership, if we do ever get there.

We need to keep building our side through draft, trading and free agency. Brisbane did the same over that period and kept improving their side. Guys like Dunkley, Daniher and Ah Chee were added through FA or trade and then they brought in talent through the draft (assisted by father son picks).

The side we saw last night is not the finished piece, there is still a lot of work to do to get us to a serious premiership threat. Especially in the midfield.

According to the Fox commentary, the first quarter had the largest single quarter pressure discrepancy ever recorded in a final

In Collingwood's favor of course
We choked. Epic mindset failure.

Game style has become so focused on contest and defence first that we can’t move the ball and threaten to score…remember that version of the Crows.

Mids who cannot find the ball in transition because they are probably figuring out where to run to protect turnovers instead of being creative and getting a touch.

MASSIVE coaching failure, psychology failure.

Fagan won by ‘dancing on ice’…Nicks has turned us into the complete opposite.

A lot of focus was on the 300th, for an inexperienced finals side like ours it was a massive distraction we didnt need.
I said that a few weeks ago before we rested Tex in the WC game. That we needed the final to be about team and not individual.

Hopefully we’re in the Merrett conversations.

That we are booing a player because he was an arseh*le to Rankine?

No it’s not.

Yes it is. Both players were shown to the public to be antagonistic to a Crows player.

Andrew’s carry on was highlighted during and immediately after the game, and he was the only one involved (in fact his teammates were trying to drag him away).

Quaynor was shown after the game and it came out that him and Houston were targeting Rankine. Those two (along with poor Billy) were boo'd.

Quaynor and Rankine had nothing that was out of the ordinary and was only highlighted after Izak did what he did.

Quaynor and Houston were both going after Rankine all day. Re watch the game.

Nicks has A LOT to work on after last night, but the Fagan one is an interesting comparison, as it took him a long time to get the Lions to being good finals performers once they made it there.

One of the Rainbow Crows was distraught after the game (because of the booing of Quaynor) and feels like he doesn’t belong there anymore. He was absolutely shattered.

Oh for god sake what a load of horse shit. The crowd booed when they ran out, they booed when Collingwood chanted, they booed when Houston got the ball, when Frampton got the ball, when Maynard got the ball. Stop following the media circus in making it an issue, because it's not.
