Are fan bases different?

I always thought (and I'm not alone) that Geelong fans are too quiet, and clap a lot. Then again, we were the only fanbase that didn't boo Adam Goodes, right at the peak of the saga.

Crows fans (a minority) behaved like dicks but it was their first final for a while. Holier than thou stances don't add much to the mix.
I don’t think they’re so different at all, some are definitely more used to pain and being beaten down in modern times.
I do find supporters from W.A and S.A FAR more parochial then others though, funnily enough I think it mostly stems from the natural bias of their own media, that mostly report on issues related to their viewers interest. Creates the fishbowl that most willingly inhabit.
Being a VIC supporter you are used to sharing the spotlight with others as that’s how it’s always been and from a attendee perspective, if you’re loud as an away supporter at at AO or OO you more get reactions out of shock, because the home fans simply aren’t used to having large levels of support being at games that don’t involve a state rival.
That really doesn’t happen at the MCG or Marvel imo, I accept that it is probably tainted by the club I support though.

One thing that annoys me is the flak Pies fans get, as a whole, but I accept it’s just a part of the fabric of the supporter culture now. I don’t think we’re as a bad as some like to make us out to be, reading social media after loss really drives that home lol. Society loves a pile on

What a moron. Seriously, you can hate a player while still admiring their ability or courage. Does good old Simmo think Bruzzie is soft? He was outraged by Fly's presser a few weeks back and said he was a bad loser. What kind of a coach was he? A good loser?
Just go and bump the OP’s stupid Collingwood are falling off a cliff thread, surprised no-one else has done yet.

Known hater of all things magpie and will hang out in game day threads decrying every missed umpire decision and applauding every one that goes the other way.
Treat his opinion and posts for what they are, nuffie brain rot.

Bit of word that Collingwood will have the Friday night prelim, (per Fox Footy article)

Ever since 2013, the highest ranking prelim side gets the Friday night, so why would this year be different?

I always thought the highest ranking side gets the maximum possible break into the GF, rather than what the TV stations want.

That 14 day break instead of 14 and a half sounds absolutely horrible, hoping there’ll be a royal commission into this one. (If true, of course) (and if Collingwood win, of course) (otherwise, who cares) (of course)

He wanted Meek to get 4 games

Also, Maynard is a very good footballer
Ruins it with his fake tough guy shit, squibs up when Thilthorpe comes over

Cut the shit and his life would be so much easier, it’s not tough post game
LOL. Why would he squib up when Thilthorpe arrived? Was he afraid that Thilthorpe was going to punch him right in front off the umpire, and on camera? You’re dreaming. Maynard just saw no point in prolonging the push and shove initiated by Keays.

Is that the same Thilthorpe who squibbed two marking contests?
Yeah pretty sure Maynard wasn’t too concerned about him.

I’ve always found the OP’s a bizarre take lol.

All AFL players know full well, nothing is going to happen to them if they want a push and shove, in the modern game, or want to partake in the sledging.

Barry Hall would have never had an opponent otherwise and would have never copped a bad word.

I have no idea of Maynard’s abilities to throw hands but I’ve never seen him squib anything on the footy field.

Wonder if he's even watched a single game of footy before.
Good question. I know if I (and maybe you) were that rich, and owned the worlds biggest Sports network, we’d have a few pads around the world with a fair few TVs and watch all sports from around the world while being looked after by Russian ‘hostesses’ and drinking of mirror topped bars.

But how do you make that point.
If the highest ranking side was Adelaide. Suddenly Collingwood wins so they’re the lowest? Shouldn’t the reward be the winner of that game gets the right, due to it being harder to beat the number 1 team at home.

I'm not talking about nor do I care about 14.5 day break between week 1 and week 3.

I'm talking about the break between prelim and GF day.

Why would this year be different? It already is.

Usually we have an Elim Final on Friday Night which they didn’t do this time around. They may want to give Coll and tonight’s winner the same amount of break?

In my opinion, if you win Prelim Final 1, you should get Friday night whether that be a reward for the top team or for beating the top team
