Why would any non Geelong fan would want to see them up there year after year. Or any other team other than one's own. It's like those European football leagues where the same few teams always win because some Russian or Saudi billionaire owns them and buys the best players, managers etc. Don't get why fans of other clubs still watch or care.
1 flag in 15 years. Everyone knows you’ll make finals and crash out spectacularly
What is with the hate then? As you say haven’t even been that successful, we were everyone’s “2nd favourite team” in 1990s when I grew up, now we are “arrogant” etc…. It’s just ridiculous to me.

And most of those aren't in the 8.

Your mob hasn't had a good ruck since Brad Ottens, yet your very annoyingly contending every single year

Once again, five of the remaining eight finalists have good solid rucks (Hawthorn, Gold Coast Freo, Collingwood, GWS).

And yes, I am well aware Geelong have not had a solid ruckman. It's kind of satisfying to know we can still make preliminary finals (the occasional grand final) without one.

Makes you wonder how we will look next season with someone like Rohan Marshall in the center square :thumbsu:

For an Eagles nuff, the most likely scenario in this finals series was 1 side equally us on 4 flag AFL cups (Coll), or 2 sides exceeding our 4 and equalling Hawthorn on 5. To rub salt in the wound of a 1 win season.

I mean, I don't really care in the grand scheme, but when you follow a sports club you make an emotional investment in these silly things beyond your control.

Well, soak it up Cats fans I guess.

Well, thankfully, the shortest hoodoo in the history of the league is mercifully over. Maybe Brisbane fans will stop whinging about Zac Bailey's holding the ball on Blicavs that wasn't paid five years ago.

Having your bias is 100% fair but just seems people hate the cats more than pies/hawks/lions/tigers who are the other successful teams. What you have laid out makes perfect sense though

The Oliver Twist of the AFL critiquing other teams. See yourself out.

I actually used to like the Cats, relatively speaking. 2007 granny was amusing and satisfying (dunno why I never warmed to Port, probably their SANFL inherited arrogance), and also was going for the Cats in 08. Was happy Isaac Smith missed in 16 (Hawks were my least favourite side at the time).

Got tired of Richmond by 2020 so was going for the Cats for Gazza in that Gabba final. Since the 2022 GF especially I've been pretty over them though. I guess we have 92 and 94 to console us, as our record against you guys has sucked for ages.

Deal. Then we'll complain about the academies after we've won more flags off the back of them.

There will always be some f**kwit who tries to say that your team is put together the ‘wrong’ way. Honestly who the hell cares. AFL clubs are huge multi million dollar organisations with so many avenues to find talent and organise it. If a club can’t organise itself to at least be competitive, stiff shit. That’s their problem. Don’t let it bother you.

Geelong fatigue in full effect, everyone is so over Geelong, applauding flopping in hope it helps Geelong lose, beautiful to see.
Everyone was over Geelong was years ago mate, that horse has bolted, now you just have to sit back and respect how you keep doing it. Beat us all into submission by always being relevant.

Fagan playing sentimental favourites.

Always been his issue. Refused to drop Rich and Gunston when they were in historically bad form a few years back. It was soo bad that they both chose to drop themselves for the benefit of the side.

He’s loyal to a fault.

Why are Weagles fans so cut up about this gutsy Geelong victory? Get excited for draft time lads.
probably because the Tim Kelly trade has already got us one flag and potential for more meanwhile the Eagles just set the record for the worst season in the AFL/VFL's 130 year history

I’m not here to gloat one bit, and I never would to be honest, I just feel the fatigue is at fever pitch right now, more than ever … it turns quickly, cats will be on the recieving end shortly, don’t think otherwise

We have at least had down periods in between our periods of success not been thereabouts since 2004. When we are up and about we cash in generally. I'd say we're lagging behind you blokes and Collingwood now when it comes to who fans are sick and tired of and BTW I'm not sledging it's a compliment.
