He's also part of the team because of positional flexibility. Our big shift the last two weeks has been CJ to a wing, replacing Weddle, who goes forward to challenge the opposition defence.

Who at Box Hill can perform that role? Seamus and BMac would require shifting our rock solid defensive structures - Sam has mentioned Weddle was put on a wing because our back 7 is playing inspired football.

Serong hasn't been selected once. HH is too slow in transition. Breust is a small forward and we have 5.

The only one is Mackenzie but a) his form at Box Hill hasn't been great, b) he still lacks a tank, and c) he has spent 0 time on a wing at BH.

Morrison and Maginness would be the logical choices given their flexibility, endurance and ability to play wing. But both are unavailable.

Bmac or Mitchell could replace impy and impy go forward and Weddle stays wing. Or Weddle forward Amon to wing and bmac to HBF.

They aren't part of the club and don't represent the club. Being embarrassed by them because they where brown and gold too is like being embarrassed about someone else's behaviour because they also wear shoes or have a chin.

We’re on a forum talking as supporters of the same club, there’s a collective element to that.

They’re potentially on this forum.

We regularly see posts here about other supporter groups being feral as if it’s someone else’s issue.

I’m not embarrassed in any way as if I would be if it was a family member, but I think it’s worth calling out that the behaviour of others wearing the same scarves could take a bit of shine off what was otherwise an awesome night.

This guy was seen as a top 5 player in our national competition only a few years ago, reckon he would believe he has both earned that paycheck and requires it.
He won't be joining us as a last throw from an elite player who hasn't tasted sporting success and is willing to sacrifice financial gain for team success.
He'll be looking to continue his lived experience of being successful in a sporting sense AND also paid appropriately for his standing in the game.

Just wanted to say congratulations for last night. I was standing on the hill last night and we were absolutely monstered by your midfield all night. Newcombe has to be one of the biggest bargains of the last 20 years, how does a guy like that not get picked up before a mid season draft. Your club is what I want Adelaide to become, ruthless, always looking to improve and successful. I think the fact that his salary was an obstacle for him last year when he tried to get out may have changed that. He's had another year on that money, he has been proven correct that Melbourne is done and need to rebuild and now the coach is gone.

If it's true he still wants out he'd need to way up that last year he failed because clubs like Carlton and Geelong last year told him they couldn't get the cap space or satisfy demons in trade. I think he'll soften on the contract to get the deal done to a competing club AND it seems Melbourne will now be keen to build the side around Langford and Kosi and getting rid of 30yr old Petracca will help them build that group. Last year Melbourne were in denial, they aren't anymore, nor is Christian.
