Pies supporters were adamant Daicos' first 4 seasons were clearly superior to Judd's.

A truly dominant, gamebreaking 2005 finals series by Judd (on top of a Brownlow the year before) has him ahead IMO. Judd across 2003-2005 made an art form of winning hard balls at stoppages and bursting free to score or create goals. A better inside/outside balance suited for the big moments of finals.

Daicos has had some decent finals but is yet to put his side on his back like some of the other star midfielders we talk about. Maybe that will come as he physically develops. But he turns 23 soon so that excuse will eventually run out.

FMD, anyone saying Daicos had the wood on Judd in his first 3-4 years is absolutely watching the wrong game.

Then in 2006 (5th season) Judd was a premiership captain (BnF + League MVP winner) with another elite season + finals series as a midfield beast. Will Nick be playing in big finals next year?

After 4 seasons he has outperformed any of the modern day champions.

However i did see him try and tackle a player tonight, got shrugged off, but he tried.

Thing is if you going to make out he is some sort of god ya cop it when he just runs around by himself looking for easy touches while the opposition is winning the game, did sneak down for a couple of kicks outs. Wouldn’t see Will doing that, too busy kicking match winning goals.

Apologies Doppleganger. I didn't mean to come across as unduly harsh at a time when your side has just lost a big final. We've all been there. It's literally a common experience across all footy fans.

But no, I don't think Little Nicky can be the GOAT. That term means the best player to ever walk the earth and is reserved for the most exceptional of deeds when it matters most.

Yep and when he doesnt perform (Prelim Final vs Brisbane) then he should cop it as well.

Cant just sing his praised and then go quiet when he doesn't do well especially in Finals.

He was quiet today. He wasn't good enough. He got 27 possessions....but he didnt have the impact. His finals series this year hasn't been that good. Different kettle of fish to Home & Away footy.
