Again Koch, Davies and the board should be embarassed and questions should be asked as to why these changes happen now when they were very CLEARLY needed some time ago.

(We know the answer). And it should be shouted.

Given the "success" of the club in reaching prelims has not making these type of changes earlier cost the club a flag?.
Imo HInkley has cost us a flag

Still room for a senior assistant. Didn’t make sense for Dew to “just” be midfield coach. Hopefully, his portfolio is senior assistant with general midfield duties, much as Walsh did when Shaun Hart (now Collins) was also overseeing coach development.

Give a reason on the rejection initially?
My understanding is the initial offer was SANFL coach with some AFL GameDay stuff when possible. Rejected cause it wasn't much better than his current role.

Job was restructured to suit. I would expect there would possibly be some mentoring with Hammer involved here too assuming he remain SANFL coach.

Dont blame him. Maggie's coach is def a worse gig than the bays.

Interesting, so they were considering moving Hartlett out of the SANFL coach job

I get that it’s a good appointment but….

Leaving Jordy aside, how is it good to have an opposition analyst who has never played at AFL level and has never coached or been an assistant coach at AFL level? Isn’t the point of an opposition analyst to scout ahead and recognise what systems and plays the opposition are implementing. This guy has probably seen less AFL football live than me over the last 3 years.

I think Chris Fagan is proving you don’t have to play the game at AFL level to know the game extremely well.

Reeves knows the game and will do well.

Here is something I never thought I'd say - on the back of 3 consecutive GF's and 3 flags in 6 years - the modern-day Bays mentality is what is needed.
Modern day Bays went 17-1 in 2021 and failed to win the Premiership.

Losing the final home and away game to a Port Adelaide side that was already well out of contention for Finals.

Can we stop talking about Hinkley in every thread, he is gone, don't let him take up any more room in your heads, time to move on, its a new era.
I think this is true to an extent, but right now we can't really judge these guys on what they've done at Port, we can only discuss how bad the last era was and where there is room to improve. I'd say once we get in to next season this stuff will fade away.

I prefer to roll with former Nuriootpa premiship coach over former Glenelg premiership coach
It just sounds better
Congratulations though, fantastic appointment 🤝
now your talking !!!

Over the last 20-25 years, there have been more opposition analysts who havent played AFL than have. Plus a decent percentage who havent played the sport to any decent level at all
