That's a good question. Maybe his athleticism has allowed him to dominate without really refining his skills and footy iq. Thankfully these 2 areas are more amendable to coaching and training rather than certain physical attributes (natural strength, speed, explosiveness, height etc). His ability to take it all in once on the list will determine his ceiling.Hasn't Max been in the Academy since he was 10, surely his footy IQ should be way more advanced than that of a non academy player, if not why isnt the academy identifying that and idenfying ways to fast track it?
The Cats could give up a combination of Henry, Bruhn and Conway and rustle up a first, either current or future from somewhere. Fact that Curnow happy to play for "less" at Geelong helps too as Carlton could get his contract off the books. Wouldn't surprise me to see it get done.I hope Geelong somehow make this work, they will have to do something crazy to facilitate a trade either losing key players in their system or scraficing draft picks. This isnt a Free agent who can accept lower $ and get topped up with farms / Cows or Cotton On. This is club who will need to trade to get him.
Curnow to Geelong is very simular to coming to Syd, will be a nice toy to have but really doesn't address the real list issues they have.

Interesting that no-one has laid claim to Max Gruzewski. At 192 cm he's more a mobile style tall than a KPF and has a year to run on his contract but...... he's aggressive and kicks goals.

With our pick 9 (which will be around 15), I'd be happy with Cumming, Greeves, Farrow or Lindsay. The former 2 are what we need on the inside whilst the latter 2 could play off HB / Wing and free Errol and Mills to play more on ball.September RMC power rankings:

Oh he's been mentioned. Club didn't rate the talls from that draft though.Interesting that no-one has laid claim to Max Gruzewski. At 192 cm he's more a mobile style tall than a KPF and has a year to run on his contract but...... he's aggressive and kicks goals.

I disagreed with drafting a small fwd with our firsts in 2022 (Konstanty) and last year (Dattoli) but they were generally regarded as the best options at that point for the position, at least according to media, club rumours. Both would have been snapped up shortly after. I don't have any concerns re: Dattoli given the way he went about it at VFL level. He'll be much better off with a pre-season and a full season hopefully injury free, should get some more senior games.Happy about the Rosas call, don't know much about him but will take the word of those who say that nws his ltd Suns times, he's a talent. Hopeful he can become our 2025 Jimmy Jordon.
But what still grates is the amount of valuable draft capital we've spent on solving for this position and we still need to go to another club's discard pile to find a solution. We've just got to improve our drafting efforts or we'll become so reliant on the Academy, which inevitably the AFL will take away from us.
Read what he supposedly wrote. Suns or bust. Nobody wants him. You think he is saying I want to go to the Suns only ? He doesn’t have a choice. They are his only life raft.According to?
Logan has a couple of years on him and a year last year without anyone in front of him. You've just described Logan except Logan has runs on the board at the top level
Imo
Any idea who we took instead of Max?Been hoping to hear this rumour ever since we stupidly passed on him in his draft year.

Wow. Having the balls to nominate a single club from his situation is sure something.Morris reporting its suns or bust for juh

Another one of our first round draft success stories to go with Ling and Stephens. Our recruiting has been saved by our academy and late round / rookie picks.Jacob Konstanty, North Melbourne's finest
Oh wow, I interpreted it as Suns the only club interested in him, so its either them or he won't play AFL.Wow. Having the balls to nominate a single club from his situation is sure something.
He must have plenty of great career paths lined up outside of football.
