I thought Pickering said Adrian came back offering a first and a second.

That was Dodoros first offer, despite privately agreeing it would be the two of the Reid/Perkins/Cox picks. Then we got Collingwoods future first and offered that and a future first. Dodoro supposedly stuck to the narrative "you asked for two future firsts, you didn't say which future firsts".

Depends where the bids come and who has what picks, we dont know that for certain yet

Teams like Suns, Blues, Brisbane are likely going to be looking to bank many picks in the 24-34 range, so the picks will come in off that aswell, as they lose many picks for 1 player

But yeh i get your point on say 9 and 10 (w/ 3 academy) it will depend how they rate the players at that point vs Duursma, but general consensus has been even for top 15 for quite some time

The value north will (understandably) place on him being contracted is not close to what Zane Duursma the player is worth or has shown. He has looked very underwhelming to date.

No doubt your purchasing on potential rather than output, but thats the case for most 19 yr olds

I highly doubt north are letting him go tbh

Put it this way, North have apparently told him to work on his fitness, work rate and competitive side. Fitness & work rate can improve, but competitive side issues? No thanks. If they don’t bite as a puppy, they won’t bite as a dog

Where on the field do we need Zane Duursma? We've done this very often where we target a player because he was a high draft pick without looking at list needs.

He is obviously talented, but a mid-sized forward that lacks competitiveness, consistency and impact isn't really one of our list needs. I would rather Archie Perkins play the forward time Zane would take from him.

As far as forwards go, we have Wright, May, Caddy and Jones along with the mid-sized forwards in McMahon, Edwards and Perkins. Does he add anything more than the likes of Edwards and Perkins? No.

Sure he has a good leap on him, but I don't think it's worth the price. If we want him, then we can target him next year when he is OOC and we have made decisions on some of the above listed forwards. We can also make a judgement on whether he first our list needs with another year.

North aren't letting Zane go for a second rounder this year anyway so if we give up a first, let it be because of good form he demonstrates next year.

Maybe trade hobbs/setterfield for 3rd or 4th rounders but doubt there is much market so I'd keep hobbs.

He makes Perkins look like a consistent workhorse who is always involved in the game.

I think because we need a tall mid/fwd to replace perkins. Im not fussfussed the rumoured asking price as it is a 20year old in a bottom 3 team who averaged 8 disposals a game.

So he may not even reach perkins heights so would purely be on potential/athletic attributes and draft pick number.

Id say if we get 2 first round picks for merret, 1 for draper compo plus the 2 we already have, he is worth a shot.

Maybe if we have 1 brother, trade up for the other id back in 2 brother might solve the work ethic and competitiveness concerns.

A lot of moves need tp fall into place before we worry about having a crack this year as we really can afford to wait and see.
