This thread is becoming increasingly popular, and to keep some sort of order, we will have some….

Rules of engagement:

1. Bring valid news or links to Twitter posts from notable sources. Don’t post screenshots or “some bloke just said on SEN” or what some “trade whisperer” has posted on a Facebook page.

2. Ignore what other team boards are putting up as trade offers. Don’t quote or bring them here either.

3. Don’t post “buckle up” for the lols.

4. If you can’t say anything nice about Worpel or CJ, don’t say anything at all. The continued slaps and backhanders are just going to be deleted.

Getting drafted there must feel like a kick in the guts for a kid with potential.

It's a 3 year sentence and then it's too late to get the scum out of them. It's baked in.

Luckily, we nabbed Mass 16 months after he was drafted and the scum just washed away.

They often draft highly rated players. They love to get a "A" rating on their draft haul. (You know, the things that really matter, ha ha).

They just have no idea how to develop talent.

Didn’t we just poach their head of development? giansiracusa?

Given we just drafted two forwards in the ND it seems likely to me that we have an eye on a DFA mid to shore up our mid stocks for 2026.

Worps had his shortcomings but he was a hard unit and I worry a little that we could get bullied around the ball next year without some more big, hardened bodies in there.

I'm expecting Butler to take Worps' spot in 2026 so I'm not worried about us getting bullied at all

Hawthorn 2026 First.
St. Kilda 2026 Second.
GWS 2026 Second.
Hawthorn 2026 Second.
Sydney 2026 Third.
Melbourne 2026 Fourth.

Final draft before Tassie in what is projected to be a much stronger draft.

Feel like we can really extract some great value next year. Those picks will be highly coveted. Teams down the bottom are going to panic and stump up.

Watched the fox coverage and they showed us getting Weagles 2nd im sure for one of our slides. Did we do another pick swap they didn’t show with the Aints?

Eagles held the Saints future 2nd (from the Flyin Ryan trade). They gave us that.

So am I right to assume that we also have the ability to trade our 2027 + 2028 1sts along with a combo with what you've listed?

3 x 1st rounders + 3 x 2nd rounders is a pretty crazy suite of picks to trade for an A grade midfielder. Also with the Bulldogs rumoured to be the favourites to land Butters I thought they we're going to be doing what we did tonight by gathering draft collateral to satisfy Port in a trade. I'd be very interested to see a comparison of our draft collateral to theirs. Butters very well might want to end up at the Dogs but Port might prefer to dealing him to us if they the Dogs can't strum up the picks.

We also have 4x SA youngsters on the list. Hard part is convincing him, as a free agent (likely matched) his cost will be high but there is leverage there. So a shitload of picks + some players would get it done.

I still think Sam Walsh is a good target, my guess is blues will have another down year, they'll may have a mid year coach sacking leading them to get a good compensation pick for him and them wanting to rebuild they'll try to cash in on the 2026 draft with their pick, walsh compensation, and offload weitering and cripps + they have the picks they got for Curnow.

Walsh is very much getteble as long as we can convince him. Us and Geelong have been into him so time will tell.
Blues need two top 20-25 picks for Walker as the rules are changing again next year with academy and f/s matching. So, with their own first round pick they'll need one more. We have that covered plus throw in 2027 first or one of our seconds.

I think we had a really good draft including the trading back for future seconds. It’s a shame through the trade and draft period, we have not improved our best 23 for 2026, but I don’t really think that’s our clubs fault.

I like trades we did on draft night. We have a pretty good hand to throw at butters next year. But I think Humper (trade) and Walsh (FA) are more likely than Butters and would be great gets for our list.

With how young our list is still I think we also have to factor in internal improvement. Is always great to add more talent but as long as guys like MacKenzie, Ward, Butts, Wiz and others take a step forward we'll be fine.

I like Butts but that's a big step up for him to replace Worps in the middle next year.

Time will tell though, one thing for sure for our young mids is their are spots for the taking in 2026 of they step up to the plate.

Blues pick 28 as maybe up for trade and they may take even late F2's.

https://www.afl.com.au/draft/future-picks (before the futures that were traded on Day 1 of draft)

Their 2 picks after is enough to match bid on Ison and they get pick 52/53 back as well. They are hoping neither North or Dogs bid on Ison though.

But if we can snag pick 28 for our F2, will put us in good position to pick a good player or even dangle the pick for further trades like 32+F3 from Pies who are trying to get Riley Onley or one of the KPF's left. They can lose picks if someone bids on Zac, their NGA ruck & would like to get ahead of picks.

if not pick 28, then Eagles pick 34 should be next target given they won't use that pick.

North Melbourne has the prized first selection on night two and has had a keen interest in Sturt key defender Blake Thredgold, who was in contention to be taken by Geelong, Fremantle and Hawthorn later in the first round.

Eastern Ranges inside bull Ollie Greeves, Dandenong Stingrays forward Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves, Sandringham Dragons key forward Archie Ludowyke, Woodville-West Torrens midfielder Jevan Phillipou, the brother of emerging Saint Mattaes, and Oakleigh Chargers ruck-forward Louis Emmett shape as value selections for clubs on night two.

Would be great if we can snag blues 28! That would be in range for the likes of Greeves, NHH or jevan.
