Why would Ben King walk away from the potential to win multiple premierships to play for Essington? Also if ben King is steadfast on returning home instead of doing 2 more years at the suns or going to a potentially successful side
2.5 mill a year, if suns match, we walk away
Depends what 1stI doubt we're getting 3 firsts for Merrett who will be another year older.

As long as we dont give up Jagga and Murphy Reid for themWe need a few Liam Bakers without the price tag.

No way would I pay that. He'll be 31. What kind of contract do you expect he'll have?Depends what 1st
3 x pick 20-22 and yeh i think we can expect that under contract
What, money? Its written in there somewhere
At our club or elsewhere? And if so, where? No way would I pay that. He'll be 31. What kind of contract do you expect he'll have?

I don't think so.
Thinking Neale would come to Melbourne is just a waste of time. He’ll either stay at Brisbane or go Perth to be near his kidsWonder if Tom lynch goes back to gold coast this year.
If Suns lose Walter or King, would make sense.
Free agents for us to consider
- Jack Crisp #1 - Strong leader at half back.
- Lachie Neale - free agent, could cover us trading merrett, could probably walk into captaincy. Melb closer to WA, than QLD
- Jordan Butts - if we lose ridley could be handy
There is Merit in getting a key forward that can teach, as doubt our forwards are learning much from Wright/Langford.
Theres only Tim Membrey, Amartey and Mitch Lewis.
b: McGrath McKay Butts
hb: Crisp Reid Redman
c: Duursma Robey Martin
hf: Kako Caddy Durham
f: El-Achkar Amartey Wright
r: Bryan Neale Sharp
int:Fiorini, Caldwell, Farrow, Johnson, Vissentini
He would only go to a contender, and if he did choose to, those clubs usually don't have that many high range picks to play with. I'm saying if I represented another club and Essendon asked for 3 first rounders for a 31 year old, I'd baulk. He would absolutely have to be the missing piece. I don't see it.At our club or elsewhere? And if so, where?
Still don't think so. How much time and effort has he invested in Suns? He won't be leaving now.Home
If he really wanted success, he wouldve signed by now or be about to?, which could occur
Plenty of teams think they can win it every year. Id say atleast 8-10 think if they add Zerrett then they canHe would only go to a contender, and if he did choose to, those clubs usually don't have that many high range picks to play with. I also don't want to offer him a massive contract, lest we get stuck with him.
All ill say is he has re signed, its been reported he isnt about to resign, hes citing family issues, he knows how good suns are for the next 6 years nowStill don't think so. How much time and effort has he invested in Suns? He won't be leaving now.
YoufffMerrett for 2 firsts. (This year and next)
Langford and Wright for whatever. Future fourths for all I care.
Move Parish if possible.
A few more delistings.
Bring in some 30+ vets to steady the ship and provide some guidance along with another 3-4 top twenty picks.
hodge to Brisbane springs to mind. No one saw that happening. Brisbane had a plan and got him.Thinking Neale would come to Melbourne is just a waste of time. He’ll either stay at Brisbane or go Perth to be near his kids
Luke hodge wasn’t going through a divorce.hodge to Brisbane springs to mind. No one saw that happening. Brisbane had a plan and got him.
And he had a relationship with the coach who had been a assistant at hawks for ages. And his current coach wanted him out to help with rebuild.Luke hodge wasn’t going through a divorce.
How do you know how that effects Neale?Luke hodge wasn’t going through a divorce.
It affects Neale because he wants to be close to his kids? How do you know how that effects Neale?
All I’m saying is none of us know whether or not we could get Neale. We can speculate and it doesn’t look likely but neither did hodge. Unless you know him, you don’t know either.
Surprised the afl havnt instilled no touching of top 25% paid players from sides that havnt played finals for the past x yearsJoel Amartey is one we can get I reckon and is an immediate upgrade to Wright.
He also plays with a bit of flair.
Besides caddy and Kako we have very limited supply of that.
Our biggest challenge will be to keep Caddy let alone pry players from other clubs.
Tassie will throw the kitchen sink at him let alone other clubs.
There has been talk he could come to melbourne from reporters/journos but im not sure if that was just to Stkilda under RossIt affects Neale because he wants to be close to his kids?
Do you know them? they might be eyeing off a move to Melbourne. Or not.It affects Neale because he wants to be close to his kids?
