colonwood use our gameplan (or were last year) so how can the rules be designed for them and be shit for us ?

is it cos we have a shite midfield
Yep totally, our midfield is bloody deplorable and we no longer rebound from defence.
The new rules have totally fun%$#ed up our game style and plan.

There's no way Hardwick will change our team up and start playing kids, he is too stubborn. He will make 1 or 2 forced changes this week and thats it.

Wouldnt be suprised if he didnt pick Balta again. Ross might be the only one he might give a game too considering how bad our midfield is at present.

Doesn't really have much choice if Jack is out as we clearly need to play another tall up forward as Lynch won't ruck and against up coming sides like Guants Port and Swans we'll need extra tall down back.

I knew the new rules would stop Richmond and guess who benefits,Geelong,Whateley,Hocking and Chris Scott pushing for the new rules,I succinctly remember Whateley going on a rant when Richmond won all those games early last year and complaining about “the state of the game”

Hopefully we find ways of learning these new rules,I miss the ferocity of the old rules, the games have a much slower tempo now.

My opinion only.

Lol,how many rules have been changed because of Richmond players ,Richo,KB,Joel Bowden.

Looking at the draw, if we can get to round 8, 4-4 or better we have a better run from there.
Just need to stop getting injuries to our best players! (#tigershaveinjuries)
Get our back 6 settled and cohesive without Rance and let things settle up forward with Lynch and a new structure.
Also a bit of a tweak to the game plan.
My worry this year is the midfield and getting pumped in the ruck. We got away with it last year with a spare in defence, can’t do that this year.

If he does play Ross it will be off a half back flank.....

after sleeping on it, i've come to the conclusion that we must give these guys a chance to bounce back . talks of no finals is premature. lets see how things go next few weeks.

im sure with the significant injuries dimma is trying to workout the best structure for us. one thing we need to fix firstly is the hunger. in the first 2 games it didnt look to be there, we dont look as manic for long enough. only in spurts.

its as if we have to remind ourselves to be manic and put pressure. we used to always stick our tackles too, dont know what happened to this. anyway, we make some changes next week, and see if we bounce back

I will say this though, everyone's going a bit over the top.

We had a bad game, and we played a poor brand of football, granted.

I still have faith in the club to bounce back next week though, whether we are with Jack, or without Jack. If we don't, then the alarm bells will start ringing for me.

Agree regarding Prestia - He just doesn't have any special qualities about him, that makes the great players great.

We over payed for him, there's no doubt about it.

This is not a reaction to this game but id be happy with up to 5 or 6 changes most of whom i had hoped we would play round 1.

If Riewoldt is out then in comes Moore. Both Balta and Garthwaite down back and imo it is crazy we are not putting games into any of Ross, Stack and RC-D.

Hawks were 4-4 in 2015 before finding their groove and saying **** you to the competition ( except us later in the year when we beat them as usual )

especially the melts about the ruck.

Dimma himself said that he felt we were too advanced for this time of year last year so we've obviously taken a different approach to be peaking later in the season. With a comment like that, plus the fact we've got a new midfield coach, plus we are tinkering with a 2 tall fwd line now with Lynch, plus with Rance going down, it makes for a side that has a bit of work to do.
Patience, we just need to get by and bank as many W's as we can in the first 8-10 rounds, get through that and we'll be right.

All I hope after last nights dismal showing is that they start tackling and chasing again.

That tackle stat last night was disgusting and demoralising. If the seniors can’t/won’t do it bring in kids that will.

It’s bad when your Ruck has more tackles than about 90% of your list and more or equal to all your small forwards.

Nank had four tackles. Butler, Rioli, George and Weller had two or three between them.

sorry but i don't buy that.

Shouldn't matter what time of the season it is, giving an effort should still be required.

Take aside all the positional, structural and personel stuff, there was simply no effort or desire from 95% of the players last night.

that shouldn't be the norm.

fmd that keepings off BS gave me the shits , they did it so easy and then whammooooo 4-5 players get free on the other side of the ground, every ******* time, we were just chasing tail all night.
Had to man up - one on one to change tempo - I assume the call to do so did not come from the coaches box.
We were being toyed with and that hurt the most.

Dimma had an absolute mare last night. (Maybe still sad about Rance….)

I reckon we have had two poor games even though we won against Carlton.

Also I wish people would stop blaming umpires and the new rules.

Umpires and the new rules don’t affect effort and we had no effort last night.

We were just plain shit.

You’ll all feel better if you just accept it and move on, I have. :D

Thanks Dr Phil :)

Pretty much this

Im sorry but if you cant be arsed to even tackle then you should be replaced with someone who will try.

the coaching staff should send a message out that if you dont give 100% each week you will be sent to the VFL till you can show that you have a spine. We shouldnt be in the business of giving players chances to redeem themselves, stuff like that leads to blokes coasting in the ones off of reputation. if theres someone in the twos whos busting his arse and giving his all, then hes ahead of you. Teams are always at their peak when theres competition for spots. Even if your having a mare you cna still run and tackle.
