IMO this is the week before we really use the axe. Gold Coast at home back our seniors in, if that don’t perform Tex,JJ,Eddie and even others.

For this week outs: Cey, Murphy , Jones and poholke (unlucky man)
Ins: greenwood, Stengle , gallucci and Gibbs

Tex could do with a spell in the SANFL. Kick a few bags and get his confidence back.

Would be a really worry if he doesn’t light up the sanfl, would of already happened if he wasn’t co-captain

JJ is in atrocious form right now, to the point that persisting with him has the potential of absolutely destroying him as a player. Himmelberg is not only the answer to that problem, he is the only answer.

I agree our midfield needs to be fixed, but take that set shot from 25m from JJ against North in the first quarter, if that doesn't tell you his confidence is completely shot, nothing will.

Confidence is a funny thing 1 straight goal and he back in Form, I would be looking at Walker before JJ at this time. Last week we were calling for Betts head saying he out of Form, yet he kicks 3,2 and he back, go figure
But who replaces him who good enough to warrant a game in front of him, cupboard pretty bare at this time, Otten would be the best one and he should be taking Hartigan's spot, Himmelberg not playing good enough to push JJ out, leaving Jacobs with ROB playing Forward.

Himmelberg for JJ this week with a must-win game at Home would be a Shocking move,

Well we can rule Fog out which at least means he won't have to play defence in the 2s this week.

If the difference between us winning and losing is picking Jenkins over Himmelberg then we are even worse than I thought.

No, the difference is leaving JJ in and swapping out players higher up the field for decent kicks and ball movers allowing a guy like JJ and Walker more space to move into.
Crows are not going to do wholesale changes, maybe 3-4 and we should be looking out our ball movement with all of them.

Jenkins provided NOTHING on the weekend. The kid will.

Fogarty reported in Sanfl, 1 week with early plea
You could tell he was frustrated out there. Gave away a 25 near goal for abusing umpire, now suspended as well.

If I was in his close support network I’d be in his ear to get a trade out of here ASAP

I wouldn't, but then I'm not that way inclined

Without a doubt. The list situation is just really bad here for him.

The problem isn't loyalty. There simply isn't a spot for him up forward in the near future. We saw to that when we resigned Lynch.

If he's not taking to being a defender, what else is there to do in his situation? Your career is paramount and too much time in a bad situation will ruin you.

i think Poholke out for Wilson is a chance

I'm not sure there's much point shuffling around players unlikely to be AFL standard.

I'd only consider Wilson after we bring in known talents like Greenwood, Gallucci and several others

It isn't about loyalty either, he's 20yo and needs to hide his time.

I agree we shouldn't be playing him in defence but if that's all it's going to take for him to spit it and request a trade then I'd be disappointed. He need only look toward his captain for advice and I'm sure he does.

It's not really though, they want to play him.

It absolutely is terrible. The fact they want to play him and can't indicates as such.

We only operate with three tall forwards, and potentially that is too many. Of that, there is only two of them Fogarty can replace and both of them are > 600k and leadership group. Simply put, there is no spot for him up forward no matter how he performs, and won't be for another 2 seasons. By then Fogarty could easily be a ruined husk of a player in the SANFL. Prospects are a ticking time bomb after all, and you need to strike as quickly as possible (especially whilst we have a set up to carry him) to make sure they do develop.

It is very much take as a defender, or seek a trade. There is no other ground for him right now because there is no forward line spot for him.

No he doesn't need to bide his time. He needed to be in the squad at the start of the season, because the only place you are going to develop into an AFL calibre player is by playing at that level. SANFL won't teach you shit after a point of time that Fog would have been very close to that as a forward already (in a poor set up which would have made it even worse).

He has no business being a defender, but that's the hole we dug for ourselves when we stupidly resigned Lynch, because we took away the only path left for Fogarty to be a forward, without relying on an injury or dumping a large contract into the reserves.

Edit: It's worth noting - I have no issue with Lynch per se. He's a good player. I have an issue with prioritising Lynch over Fogarty because Fogarty has the level to be much more then just a good player.

He’s an elite forward who has shown he’s capable of playing at the level.

To be wasting away in the 2’s being told to play somewhere you shouldn’t be is clearly frustrating him.

He’s now at least a month away from possible selection. The years wasting away for him when he would reasonably have expected to play.

Too right I’d be in his ear

The Swans would be perfect for him.

The best thing about this loss is we backed ourselves into a corner with our posturing omission of Gibbs. "We're not going to put up with that," we said, clearly assuming we'd win, Bryce would tear up the SANFL and they'd look like geniuses.

Well coaches. Plenty of senior players putting their hand up to be dropped after that. Do we have the balls to drop someone who's played more than 100 games for the club? Or do we back the boys in to respond? Show me what you got.

It'll be quite amusing to see what happens this week.

If he doesn't make significant changes, then he's made a liar of himself in the space of a week.

Rucci is already applying the blow torch, sometimes he comes in some use
