Well, other than a refusal to defend Petrucelle all night, and an inability to convert from 25m out straight in front, a very good win. Built on the back of ruck and midfield dominance, really good forward pressure and outstanding defending by Howard, Houston, Clurey and Jonas.

We have some players who need to lift though. Westhoff and Robbie look like they’re no longer the players they were. Bonner is a problem. Fumbly and terribly unreliable. Duursma is great when he runs hard, but he plays a really tentative style.

I thought Wines, Ebert, SPP, Drew, Sam Gray and Butters were excellent in those conditions. Marshall was a presence but his set shot goal kicking is a bit of a concern. Ryder and Lycett excellent.

2 final observations:
1. We cannot kick 100 points.
2. Dan Houston is our best player. No ifs, buts or candy nuts.
