As a player on the field Rance has copped a whole lot from fans, quite often deservedly. But the last 24 hours or so has given me a great insight into the true nature of Alex and I gotta admit he sounds like a quality bloke, great teammate and fantastic perspective on life.

The half time banter with Jack was great.

It’s so that he gets match fit. Still got 3 goals so that’s alright considering he hasn’t played in a while.

He also needs to get used to playing in front of such a big crowd as I felt he dropped quite a few of those marks due to stage fright.

Similar to M. McGovern, clearly not fully fit but needs to be playing to get up his fitness.

That won't be recommended for an ACL rupture. You only delay surgery if your worried about not having enough strength in your leg after surgery. Non-athletes do some pre-hab.

For alex rance it just would not be required your not going to go squatting with a torn acl and put stress on other ligaments on your knee. If the worst happens straight under the knife he is a relatively young man he will be back in 12 months time.

Just the ACL graft is still taking and adapting to the body at 3 months. Guys can run at 6 but your at an extreme risk of failure. That's why it's so rare and we barely see Lars anymore because of the issues with the synthetic graft not adapting well to the body. That was the whole basis of lars the graft does not go through a weakened period of time so you can train harder earlier and regain leg strength.
Went back and had a look. It was directly after Dimmas presser if any one wants to have a look.

Richo said to Nic Nat, as someone who is coming off an ACL theirs a number of options now, one is to have surgery and the other is to delay and start getting some strength into the quads straight away
Nic Nat agreed and said, theirs a number of players in the past doing it, and Goldy was doing squats early on and came back to play in the finals.

Would be interesting to see what the time frame for Goldy was.

It's case by case for natanui who came off an 18 month previous ACL. Into his second you might go down that path. Goldsack was a freak occurance fastest ACL in history and he has nothing to lose at 30 plus.

Goldsack just did it to get back fast because he is over 30. But at the end of the day it's about the graft healing not about your quad strength. And it depends of the type of injury natanui had all sorts of other ligament damage with his first reconstruction.

And we don't know what grade goldsacks was. I wouldn't think for someone like rance you would wait for surgery straight in.

Because he can start squatting like two weeks after surgery. It's really for the doctor to decide if he thinks the condition your in prior to immediate surgery requires prehab.

With a valuable asset like rance no way in the world would I risk it in 5 months. That's just my perspective read for yourself though if you like

No probs at all. I'm just relaying what Nic Nat said.
I should add, Rance will be 30 by the time finals roll around, and is 7 months younger than Goldy was when he did his last year.

Yeah understand didn't rance sign a contract to 2021 ?

Pretty sure the sack was rolling on final year of his contract with nothing to lose. For 2019 he is on another 1 year deal not even in the round 1 team

I'll risk goldsack on a knee lol won't cost me a dime extra. Isn't rance a 5x all australian now. It's all about the price of the asset really sounds terrible but true.

yes, recovery time from ACL's seem to be shorter than the past, I think they do something different now and dont hack at the hamstring (could be completely wrong just remember reading it somewhere)
Goldsack did do his preseason though
When did Goldsack do his knee? It was pre season at some stage yeah? Jan, feb?

Under Nicks reign we saw school girls slept with, milne get charged with rape and dwarves burned while we saw noods of masturbation and dick touching. You wanna try again? Jack is a superior leader and bloke.

No charges were actually laid. I’m sure you’re club has plenty of indescrections like that but don’t get mentioned as dusty is a media favourite and Richmond hadnt won a flag for how long, plus there was captain defaults brownlow. Nothing could tarnish the fairytale now

So the rest was ok then? Cool.

Richmond supporters really have an unhealthy problem with any sort of criticism

Or i just have a low tolerance for hypocrites?

Nah it’s the former. Probably been quiet for 35+ years before 2017

Yeah, seen two winning flags in my lifetime. You?

All good mate. I don’t control when my dad felt a bit of love for my mother.

See, that’s actually been your best response this whole thread. Well done.
