He has struggled only because dangerfield went forward??He kicked 37 and 41 goals in the previous 2 seasons. You’re daft.
He’s had a hard time this year because our best mid from the past 8 years has moved into his role.
Isn't Worpel a FA? We are apparently offering 4 years and they are offering 3 and next year we will go hard at Butters.I’m mildly annoyed that hawthorn is going hard at all these elite mids while we seem to be kicking our heels up going after B graders, and they seem to be willingly letting us take worpel off their hands without much of a fuss.

They're going after two contracted 30 year olds that's going to cost them four first round picks, if it even happens.
Good luck to them, but there are reasons we wouldn't be doing that.
Part of the reason we are the club we are is buying low, outside of the true best of the best in their prime with a long time left.
Would love for Sam Mitchell to eat some humble pie. West Coast and now Essendon. He's gone from sniping at players to sniping at clubs (for players). Crass. That's exactly it, Merrett is worth two firsts. Trac is worth two firsts.
They'd be absolutely going all in with this group and those players and hats off to them if they do.
Mitchell has always been an arrogant campaigner, as a player and as a coach he's shown he's talented but also a fan of drinking his own bathwater like it's nectar.Would love for Sam Mitchell to eat some humble pie. I wouldn't say he has struggled but there definitely isn't a role for him. Danger has come in and effectively merged Gary Rohan and Ollie Henrys roles into one.He has struggled only because dangerfield went forward??
Very shallow logic
I can only comment on the St Kilda side of things. I have no idea what Geelong are feeling. I just report here what I hearAgree. My honest take on trade proposals here:
1) Information Asymmetry - Folks here have nowhere near the information that the Poach Brothers (Wellsy/Mack) have. Please don't tell me you are ITK (trade stuff is closely held). What you're stating as ITK is the feelers they are putting out. If you are rehashing what's in the Media, say so.
2) More prone to Cognitive Biases - E.g Anchoring. Someone comes along and says 3 First rounds and everyone starts from around that mark.
3) Discounting our Leverage - Like Turbocat said. The first rule of negotiation is to be able to walk away. Wellsy is just more polite than Mack in doing so. Also, you have no idea how badly the other party wants to sell and how much the impending deadline disproportionately impacts them. The Poach Brothers do.
4) Overpricing Players - Just because you think Player X is "crucial" doesn't make it so. There is always other options. I bet a lot of you overpriced Bailey while the Poach Brothers stuck to their guns.
5) Tunnel vision - You've no idea who/what is in the pipeline over the next few years, Salary Cap machinations etc. The Poach Brothers have everything strategised. It is their job.
..
Please don't go all 1st Amendment on me. Of course, you are free to discuss at length on your opinions. They are just that. Opinions. Just as long as you don't lose your cool and get into flame wars over it.
what about a ned moyle? wont cost a lot in terms of picks or cash and GC need some later picks for bids, etc.
Wasn’t much love for Neale not that long ago from the usual suspects.Jeez not a lot of love in here for edwards
I think everyone loves Edwards, they're just realistic about his body development.Wasn’t much love for Neale not that long ago from the usual suspects.

Lots of potential, but nowhere near ready for AFL. It'll be like Tim English's first year, but without the around-the-ground ability.Jeez not a lot of love in here for edwards
We got Bailey Smith last you, and there is every chance that we are absolutely knee-deep into Zac Butters. There is quite literally a limit (a dollar amount, above all else) to how many superstars you can buy.I’m mildly annoyed that hawthorn is going hard at all these elite mids while we seem to be kicking our heels up going after B graders, and they seem to be willingly letting us take worpel off their hands without much of a fuss.
A pick in the 20s plus a later pick in a crap draft is fine for marshall and we have heaps of cap space. This is interesting because I think there’s a good chance we may make that trade and I also think Marshall is worth that.
Gawn aside who’s been a better ruckmen the last 5 years? He’s 29 turning 30 and rucks don’t seem to get going until 26-27 these days. Ruck is really one of the few missing pieces we have IMO. Worth paying for.
No no no, I disagree - one of the most fun parts of BigFooty are those claiming to be very much In The Know. It's not trade time unless you hear it from Wellsy's mum's dogwalker's third nephew once removed!Agree. My honest take on trade proposals here:

as much as wanting to get rid of him over one average season. Absolute nuffie thoughts.Could see O.Henry coming in for the sub role in the Prelim.

It would need to be an injury to a similar forward player for him to get in now. Alas, some in here are willing to trade him after one average season, after kicking 40 goals a season from the previous 2 seasons.Hope not as it would mean we had 3 or 4 injuries in the prelim.
If the club saw that Ollie had a role to play this season they would have picked him against Richmond.
Instead they have settled on Bews, Clark and Knevitt being the finals back ups and have been shuffling the deck to keep them ticking over since the Sydney game.
I was touching wood whilst wearing a foil hatDo not jinx it. The Geelong curse is a few months away from giving him a degenerative bone condition
It seems odd to me though that if the Hawks have been chasing mids for so long, why they are prepared to let one of their own go?Targetting contracted players is always going to be tough. The Hawks have low key been chasing mids forever without luck.
If you want one at a reasonable cost they have to be OOC. Since there are no decent OOC mids left, that is why we are in for Worpel as a FA.
