Whilst I appreciate the comedic talent of so many posters on this board and often have a bit of a smirk at their offerings, it’s not often I laugh out. You got me Daddoo 😅

Thank you, my dear. :)

"Teenage half-forward Chris Scerri is training for a list spot during the pre-season supplemental selection period and enjoyed some flashes of involvement, bringing physical pressure and showing attacking instincts.

"He's one of those exciting players when the ball drops in front of him he's just got that speed," Jackson said.

"He's really going to add to our forward line and keep growing."

Thank goodness for BettercallSaul's recent post, however there are more Chris Scerri training references from Nathan Schmook at AFL.com and Dogga here then 50 odd pages of training reports. Pull your finger out lads and train those glasses on the pocket rocket from Strathmore.

A proven classy but older player training well in January...oh the humanity
Classy? Hardly.
At what point do you say that’s he’s depth, his age and experience has reached its limit.
He went from on baller to defensive wing.

Ended up with 8 disposals in a final as the most experienced player in the team. Fyfe came on and had more impact.

I’d rather give his spot to Erasmus, and Johnson and build experience.

JOM is just taking a spot on the team with his limitations.

One thing I'll say about the Sean Darcy injury is I'm way more confident in the ability of Mason Cox to fill in for a few games than I ever was of Liam Reidy.

Carlton fans that think Liam Reidy is the next Lloyd Meek are in for a harsh reality check. I'm fully aware of what we got for Reidy at trade time and am still of the opinion we got MASSIVE overs for him. Meek on the other hand was AFL standard every time he played no.1 ruck for Freo. Him becoming Hawthorn's no.1 was predictable, Darcy's injuries weren't. It is what it is.

All clubs are suffering soft tissue injuries. Massive overreaction re: calf strain for Darcy. In the past we have worked him too hard in the PS games. Let’s hope he is available for some mins in the final PS game - aside from that let big Cox ruck in all the other scratchy games.

We will get a better idea of Darcy’s injury over the next couple of weeks but reverting to he’ll be out for 3-4 months and we should have kept Meek is over the top.

Meek was scratching around being trialed at full back for Peel not long before requesting a trade. He also couldn’t take a mark when playing AFL. Good on him for work hard a taking his opportunity. At start of 2024 Hawks preferred Reeves and he changed the script.
Maybe a bit of an overreaction, but 18 clubs are taking Meek over Darcy now.

And it's not even close.

Scerri difficult to identify at training without designated number.
Some Peel players there too?
Yeah, don’t worry, when you add in caps and bibs you are lucky to identify everyone. I totally missed him in the one training session I attended. If I had missed M Cox then I would send myself in for some checkups!

If Sean Darcy is injured, Mason Cox is straight in. Jackson shouldn’t be doing sole ruck duties ever again

Always said.. availability > talent/potential.

Meek has nearly played a whole season more worth of games since joining Hawthorn
