Interesting to see how Ivanhoe and Old Paradians have settled into the NFNL two years after leaving the VAFA. Both clubs have boosted crowds, improved finances and strengthened recruitment since the switch. Curious what others think — has the move improved their long-term prospects, and will more VAFA clubs follow?

Can someone explain why 17 year old kids can’t be in an under 19s group chat and why clubs are saying under 18 year olds need to be removed because the government has banned social media (which doesn’t include WhatsApp or messenger)

Mind boggling clubs are complying with this unless I’m missing something.

Not sure how under 16s social media ban has anything to do with WhatsApp football chats for 17 year olds to let them know training has been canceled due to heavy rain

It’s not just footy but also basketball vic have stated the same as well as netball vic

IMO they should televise and make a big deal out of the NTFL. Have it on Kayo and get more marquee players in to bring up interest. I watch a bit of it but not that accessible unless you pay

100% agree. You would think NTFL and their sponsors would love that as well.

Apparently the league spent 90k on rep footy last year. My gosh, it’s a lot of money for essentially nothing.

Walking the dog and watched a local clubs junior girls training tonight.

Probably u12s I reckon and decent amount there with some very decent skills shown and heap of supporting coaches.

Shows girls game is going to get better, clearly could be seen.

Also shows how many may have decided Aussie Rules is their game maybe ahead of netball and basketball.

U12 girls kicking off training same day many seniors' sides coming back is a clear shift in preseason for juniors and as a local Aussie Rules follower was great to see.

Any updates on how Northcote Park, Reservoir, West Preston and Epping went with getting 19’s up for this season? And do Ivanhoe plan on getting 19’s up or are Ivanhoe juniors affiliated with the VAFA Ivanhoe? No 19’s makes it real hard for clubs going forward especially in the top 2 senior Divisions. Super effort by clubs like North Heidelberg and Bundoora to field teams in 19’s with no real juniors coming through.

So transfers have opened as of 1st Feb.. EDFL leading the way with great write up on both men's and women's players coming into the league, as well oa those on the move.

Its Monday.

NFNL HQs has brunch to discuss the weekend followed by WFH Zoom meetings to check on everyones thoughts about new fines.

Then an EKO.

Doing anything proactive and not in their interests is not a NFNL thing.

I hear they have had meetings with the Federal Communications Minister in charge of social media and now you get a fine for your post, I am sure I get one as well.

Northern Fines and No-logic League.....wait for the new logo, I think a rainbow appears.

Just had a look... there 17s team didnt win a game last year.

Sad to loss players to the game but tough to come back after a season like that

We’re very excited down at Epping to be fielding our first 19’s team in more than 10-years!

Lots of hard work being done by the Club to solidify its future and build a sustainable model, one that has much improved retention through its juniors than previous years. It won’t happen overnight but the foundation is there.

Hopefully with the new CEO getting his eye in there should be movement on the media manager role soon

19s comp is on its last legs, unfortunately.

Sad when some clubs have had 40 odd under 19s players in recent years and others can't get a team together.

20 clubs had teams last season from a possible 31 senior clubs and you've just said that Mernda will be pulling theres out in 2026.

Unless some of the other clubs reintroduce teams, it will dip below 20 clubs being represented in 2026.

Anyone know what’s going on with diamo juniors? The senior club is flying, but their 17s are on the brink with 7 players allegedly training last night and 16s have folded already apparently. Sad of true but hopefully get some players back after cricket as great pathway there for the kids.

That’s surprises me as I thought their juniors were really strong
