Callum Mills

Callum Mills is one of the best young players in the AFL. The QBE Sydney Swans Academy graduate won the 2016 AFL Rising Star award and was selected in the AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 team in three of his four eligible years. Mills is a small defender with uncompromising courage who’s also capable of shifting through the midfield. The New South Welshman was elevated to Sydney’s leadership group during the 2018 pre-season at the age of just 21, and he’s now a member of a five-man leadership panel alongside co-captains Josh Kennedy, Luke Parker and Dane Rampe, as well as Lance Franklin.

Callum Mills
DOB: 02 April 1997
DEBUT: 2016
DRAFT: #3, 2015 National Draft
RECRUITED FROM: North Shore (NSW)

The media update from the club website clearly states the setback caused by the calf injury means Mills can't get back to any contact training from his injured shoulder as originally planned.

So based on this, the shoulder is progressing but the calf injury means he can't do contact training for the injured shoulder.

Whilst Mills is probably our most versatile player, he also appears to be the only player that can get injured everywhere and for every reason. If he does make it back later in the year, can't really see him playing much inside midfield time which is a shame.

A tough call would have to be made to squeeze another defender out for Mills to come back

Not the end of the world if he doesnt make it back - we are doing just fine

It's amazing how you consider all your posts are clear and obvious, yet you seem to have an inbuilt inability to understand other people's posts.

Ever consider that the fault may actually lie at your end?
Most of the time , thanks for the heads up , seriously that one was obvious as others knew straight away .

He's done calves before if i'm not mistaken. tbh i don't remember mills ever having an injury free season. Another one made out of paper mache. Doing calves at 26-27 has got red flags all over it.

Sounds like Mills might be back not far off of the bye return timeline

"Captain Callum Mills is earmarked for a return a couple of weeks after the mid-season bye due to a calf injury that occurred during his recovery from an off-season rotator cuff tear."

Promising news 🙏

Surely now worth creating a new thread “Where to fit captain Cal into the team?” 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️😂
Looking forward to the thousands of permutations we will all come up with 🤣
