Look for the length of time Hayward has been at the club and the fact he's in the leadership group youd think sooner or later he'd have a really good game.

Most of his career he's been below mediocre.

Just not great a player at least in the role that's been assigned to him.

He had a chance to give us a sniff and he blew it.

Not tall. Not bulky. Not particularly quick. Not a great tackler. Doesn't impose himself on the games. Goes missing. Good kick and good mark (if his opponent is the same size).

Always saves his rep by kicking 1-2 cheap goals a game.

I just don't get it.

Had a very good year last year but is well off the pace 2023.

That's one less than a first year draftee!

He was just gassed.

Fwds score from repeat leads

Usually takes them 3- 4 pre seasons to get to the level

He's also up against Andrews who is hard to beat one on one.

He caused a few ground ball situations and took Andrews to the ball he did not want to contest. I don't think our disposal was exactly wonderful. Horse had obviously decided to bomb long on every occasion.

This would have been ok had Buller not had Andrews as an opponent.
