Heeney leading contested possessions, second for tackles and clearances.

Like him in the mids whilst mills is out.

Wicks brought cleanness, finishing and pressure.

Backline jelled really well.

McLean took some great grabs.

Paps and Hayward worked into it.

Mids were pretty solid (rowbottom a bit bleh).

Blakey, fox, jmac and Warner excellent whilst gulden had a huge first 1.5 quarters.

Cmon King, get off his case!! What would he need to do to earn your respect??

who?

Melican? solidish tonight, blues forwards pissed it away

I meant more if push comes to shove. Rampe is fit one of Francis or Melican goes, I want francis

thats all

Melican used the ball well thats a tick

he still gave space and was lucky it wasn't punished imo.

Blakey was freed up though is another tick

apologies for the flippant piss him off

Proud of the boys tonight. Melican, Wicks and Hickey all did their jobs and improved the team. I was unfair on Francis - he grew into the game. I still think he's not a true one on one defender but looks to have potential as a third tall / interceptor. However, he might have to fight Blakey for that role. He was absolutely dynamic and my vote for BOG.

McLean continues to get better and better. We all know his strengths (contested marking, endurance, goal kicking, effort) but tonight he showed improved agility and defensive pressure. He's definitely a keeper.

Gulden kept us in when Carlton were good very early. He was quiet later but important early imo

Wicks first half was good, rare small forwards stay in the game at that rate the whole time, but took his chances

Agree Carlton were wasteful but Swans also bloody wasteful with their dinky pressure handballs. Good arm wrestle as predicted and we won that
We blew how many clear chances with shite decision making inside f50

Defence was significant, all of them played well tonight.

Part of that was due to melican, freed up others.

Rampe comes back, to be honest maybe for one of the rucks. Could not drop melican after tonight was a great game back in. Same for wicks
