2009 BUDDY DRAFT - get on board!!

The first post I made here was a bit of a rambler, so I have condensed into a smaller post with essential info.

OK I think I will set a tentative date of Sunday Jan 4 to start the draft.
We need to get our list of reporters finalised so we can randomize the order, which means we are officially on a recruitment drive!

I really hope that some of the more seasoned posters on here can contribute to this venture. Some very esteemed and/or prolific posters are heavily involved in the Buddy Boards for other clubs. It would be great to get some of the insights of long time posters into the board this year.

As harsh as it sounds, I thought most people were pretty lazy when it came to it, some pretty much left their original thread from memory.

Yeah there were a fair few posters who dropped the ball, but I'm sure there are enough people around here to make a go of it anyway. We can only get better!!

I always get forgotten
OK so I did drop the ball near the end of the season, but I had just started a new job doing 12 hour shifts.
Perhaps if there are no updates on a player for say 2 or 3 weeks, we should auction said player off to a new reporter?

Nice to offer your services Dave-o. It is usually the younger guys/lower draft picks that don't end up being chosen.
Feel free to enter our Buddy Draft as well though and take another player of your choosing. I am sure your threads will be brimming with info sourced from all over the net!

Well I have got to wait from approval from all corners to make this official. We are nothing without our beloved mods!

I think we will probably need to give it a week or 2 to make sure everyone who wants to has signed up. We can't have people missing out can we now?

I'm dropping Leon Davis and am going to take my chances in the draft.
Count me in again.......The only reason I dropped off last year was because we switched Internet providers and it took forever to get it reconnected.....
But I will do it consistantly now that we have a steady internet connection!

I go for Collingwood, but Dale Thomas is my favourite player.
I would rather get Dale Thomas and do a good job, than get stuck with someone I don't want and do a bad job.
