NFL 2012 NFL - Week 2

Matthew Stafford = the entire Richmond midfield
Calvin Johnson = Jack Riewoldt

They are insanely reliant on him through the air. Do they actually have any other receivers of note?

As the Lions miss a field goal by hitting the post for the second time this half.
Titus Young (might of benched him though) and Nate Burleson comes to mind. Pettigrew as a TE as well

Certainly not going anywhere near them this game so far.

Smith is good out the backfield, Broyles will be good eventually. Not to mention those already mentioned.

Although for CT I hope Stafford keeps passing to SF. For once Zarko has brought his A game playing against me.
Despite your O playing like shit, a few D plays is probably going to lose it for me.

Know the offense is crap. Issue is I'm too afraid to drop them as the quality to replace them is just not there at the moment.

What do people think about the Tate-Lee hit; legal or not?

Looks legit to me - hit him in the chest. He did lead with his helmet though, so you never know, even if it wasn't helmet to helmet.

BTW - a very dangerous thing to do - neck injuries and paralysis are the biggest dangers when hitting like that.

Yeah San Fran look like the team to beat and I think they're going to the superbowl. Just hopefully it's against my broncos. We have another test tomorrow against Matt Ryan. Just need another week to be sure on Peyton.

A few musing from week 2.

1. The replacement officials must go. They are beyond terrible.
2. Congrats to the Cardinals fans on the board. That was a well deserved victory, even if the last few minutes were eventful.
3. The Patriots D finally looks to be a dominant unit. To paraphrase Borat great success.
4. CJ Spiller = wow. He's having a breakout season, with or without Fred Jackson.
5. 2 weeks into the season and the Chiefs are a flaming pile of ****. For the talent on that side, geez they're disappointing.
6. Mike Tomlin will be the NFL's next great coach. He looks like a guy players would love to play for.

Replacement refs ain't as 'awful' as some are making out. Remember that 'missed calls' is better than 'double guessing' and 'Over-officiating' any day of the week.
I can only think of a handful who Love their Cards... where's Wizard btw?
Funny that Spiller didn't take off late last season when Freddie got hurt and now seems to have his found his groove/ breakout season long overdue. (drafted 1st rnd/ 2010)
Fully agree about the Chiefs. Admittedly, never been a fan of Mat Cassel. (Poor man's Cutler :p )
Mike is possibly the only head coach who adds 'style' to his repertoire. Doesn't let things he can't control eat him up unlike some.

Well that was a frustrating game - seemed like the Jets got off to a good start but I missed it because the Ravens/Eagles went over. Played well for a quarter and a bit but after that Pittsburgh monstered us. There's not much to take out of that game, kept running into brick walls, passes going over receivers heads, stupid playcalls, and wide open Steelers receivers on defense time after time. Was back to the very worst of 2011 as far as I'm concerned.

The only saving grace is that Sanchez & Greene who both looked pretty hot early copped big hits to the head and so potentially could be a reason for the poor run and missed passes. But I'm not hanging my hat on that. Let's just get out of there and try and get back on the W's board next week at home against the Fins.

Crazy results in other games, pretty much every result was the opposite to what I thought would happen except for the Texans, 9ers & Chargers.

I'm here buddy, only got the chance to watch the game late last night then went straight to bed. Very impressive start to the season, our D is very stout.
