You'd think if we retain our first round selection after trade week then there's every chance Weideman will be still available now and we can take him if we rate him.

The ankle injury might be a blessing in disguise if indeed he's any good to start with.

Like most of you I have no idea.:drunk:

Schache is a top 5 Pick(Could be Number 1 Pick) so we won’t even be close to Drafting him
Would you consider this trade if gold coast finish last Reid witts and our first pick for Schace him Moore would be unstoppable it's that happened I don't want to trade Reid or witts but he is once in a lifetime player

It be Very Tempting but I would not Trade Witts as we would pretty much just have 1 Ruckman and I doubt Suns would want Reid who’s body is very UnReliable

We are giving up one piece too many.

You're nuts.

Nearly every freaking year there seems to be a once in a lifetime/generation player.

Cameron
Hogan
O'Meara
Martin
Patton
Boyd

All in the last 5 years. Not to mention the diamonds in the rough like McCarthy. You'd be mad to sell the farm for a single unproven draftee.

Hawthorn did that and it's the best thing they've done in modern history

Did what? Traded away the equivalent of a potential top 5 in the league ruck, an AA CHB and their first pick for the number 1 pick?

I call bullshit.

Well they traded two top 10 picks (croad and mcpharlin), both who ended up being all Australian key defenders so they could draft an unproven Luke hodge.

You don't want to trade for an unknown, witts is still an unknown, Reid hasn't been on the park for almost two years and a first round pick which is also an unknown.

Although I wouldn't be trading all three, it's not the craziest thing going around.

Bennell was considered one too wasn't he?

It's all fairly ridiculous. I'd be okay with 1 player (depends who) + first pick for a #1 selection but it simply won't happen. Our only chance of getting Schache is having GCS finish first, retain Lynch and Dixon so they feel they don't need another kpf, then have a high performing inside mid that they sorely need and pick him. Then we'd have to trade for the #2 pick with Carlton/saints/Brisbane, all of which need another KPF so we'd hVe to give up one plus a pick to get pick 2 and even then GCS might still take Schache with their first pick.

The only player we could offer that would get us what we want is Reid, but that will only happen if he plays 8 or so games of senior footy this year and looks in top knotch.

It's just simply not going to happen.

Witts is already an excellent ruckman at only 22 and is only improving as he gains experience. Hardly an unknown. Reid has been off the park for 1.5 years, but is also one of our top 5 most important players on our list when fit. We'd be trading him at his lowest value when he could be potentially playing his best footy at his peak next year. Madness. Add our first round pick to that and it's a mind bogglingly bad trade.

The Hawks trade involved risk, but it's not in the same realm as what this guy is suggesting we do, on the back of one guys comments on a player in a relatively weak draft, as opposed to the superdraft that Hodge went in.

He killed Francis apparently the other day he is spose to be the number 1 pick in the draft he has dominated under 18 championships

So what? He's dominated the champs in a weak draft year. Big deal.

Kicking Bags of 6+8 Makes you stand up.

Can’t Remember last U-18 Kid to do that

McKenzie did that last year, albeit at TAC, not champs, but the national champs had a lot higher talent level amongst the talls last year too.

Regardless of that, if we can pick up a good prospect to eventually play alongside Moore, be it Weideman or another prospect, it would be the right thing to do imo. Moore is our star forward, we need someone beside him though.

The number 1 draft pick is the most overrated commodity in the AFL.
