Hawks fans are in melt down on the trading board.
Hope Suns hold out until 1.59pm tomorrow and wait for the Hawks to offer something decent.
They can't. It requires one of their players of value wanting to move to the GC.

Its either GC fold, but after Cochran's interview I can't see that happening, or no Deal.

If only we were trading with Adelaide FAITH could have given us the inside word. :santa:

PS If someone has no idea what I'm talking about (and wants some late night light entertainment) make your way to the Tippett thread on the Adelaide board and search for him/her, particularly early in the piece.
Will never forget that. Will go down as my favourite BF moment of all time!

Anyone think the GCS will crack and just take 10 and 48
I just can't see how they will let him walk
Let's just be content that we will be ok next year with the team we have, with more improvement coming from the youngsters & hopefully an improved injury list. Should we land someone like JOM or Fyfe in the next few years, it will only be because we are a respected destination club because recent history tells them that we give each of these players a greater chance of playing regularly in finals which in turn increases their chances of becoming a p'ship player.
What ever will be will be.

They pushed out Mitchell and Lewis. Players will move for more $ and better opportunities.
Mitchell was already retiring in WA for his vice coaching role but was pushed 1 year early.

They tried to send Lewis to the GC, he declined and then left the Hawks for Melbourne. I reckon Lewis is quietly dirty at the Hawks. According to the interview on trade radio, he wouldn't even go back to the club to clean out his locker where his premiership medals actually are.

Hardly a suitable comparison.

No it's a suitable comparison given 1, 2 in the B&F. Shows players will move when pushed. They just haven't pushed anyone the Suns will accept.

The 2 pushed out chose where they wanted to go which goes against your theory. The Hawks tried to push Lewis to the GC, which made him leave the club to go to Melbourne.

They haven't pushed anyone that wants to move to the GC and none of their players want to go there.

It's like how Titch chose the Hawks, we couldn't force him to go to Carlton because it would benefit us at the trade table.

In the current AFL climate, clubs don't have the power to force a player to move where they don't want. This is why Hawks are in a bind, none of their players have agreed to move there.

Tony Cochrane is a shrewd business man, he is calculated yet incredibly daring and is no novice when it comes to sports management.
He will have plan A, B, C, D all the way to Z
He is actually exactly what GC need from a leadership perspective
Hawks picked the wrong guy if they thought that he would just roll over and take whatever they offered for JOM

I 100% agree.

GWS are now a destination club with Stevie J, Griffin, Mumford, Deledio, etc.... When everyone thought they would always struggle.

I hope GC can survive and he can turn it around.

Definitely..he was one of the major reasons the V8's got to where they are rightly or wrongly and regardless of the fans or team bosses and i dont think he ever went back on anything he said or stated he would do....perfect fit for GC to get their culture right house in order..you just have to take the good with the bad with him....

Reckon Lids is exactly what GWS needed. A leader & not as big a wannabe tough guy tool like half their current list. He'll provide some stability & flexibility positionally for them that Stevie J or Mummy (or even Griffen) can't give them IMO.

If ppl aren't worried about the GWS onslaught now then they never will be... It's here now & I'm expecting to see AFL created domination the likes we've never ever seen before............

Deledio without a tag scares the living daylights out of me! He'd bad enough to face when he's being tagged let alone as the 3rd/4th or 5th bloke to tag in a side!

They will get found out. To win a flag you have to get used to winning the games that aren't on your terms and winning ugly. They love their outside game but it's not sustainable. I suspect Cameron's a decent enough coach to give them that fine tuning they need, but as of right now they're a run-or-die team. (Like Port in 2014)
