Boomer in a Melbourne jumper would look odd to say the least. BUT he's the sort of player who'd end up kicking the winning goal against North when we play them next year. Now that's drama!

When you put it like that...

I still struggle with it though. And I want Stretchy to kick the winning goal when we play them next year - the first time. The second time I want us to win by 10 plus goals.

At least Ballantyne seems to being staying west!
On news over in perth lastnight saying that he is speaking to victorian clubs ATM but if that fails he hopes he can get a trade to WCE.. so not in the clear just yet

****... if there was a Hogan trade that involved Ballantyne coming to us Id tear up my membership and quit following football and move to Nepal.

Don't even joke about it!!

Fortunately, I can't see us going anywhere near him, we already can't fit all our small forwards in the team.

Yeah whos spot is boomer really taking? Gives Jeffy a wake up call if its his spot. Could move shit around to lose our bottom player whether its Harmes, MJones or Bugg. Bloke trains every session according to North so he like Crossy adds more to development than not. Explain to me how he hinders developing our youngsters? Taking a spot in the team? If they are better than boomer they will get a game if not they spend it in VFL learning and training off of 1 of the best. Will be a good get even if he plays 10 games its more than just footy.

Silly boy - clearly we need even smaller forwards.

Learning and training?

As far as I can make out, the only endorsement for this guy as a mentor and trainer is the fact that he has played the game for three million years. Which is (grudgingly acknowledged) impressive. But it doesn't make him by default another Crossey. In fact, the team who have been benefiting from his mystical training skill to date have been Norf - and if his elderly wisdom was such a great asset for them then a) why did they feel the need to recruit 8 or 9 other 30 plus gurus, and b) why did it turn to shit - have everyone delisted without the flag or indeed any real admiration from normal society.

He's boomer. He is great on general DNA principles of playing the game longer than anyone. It's impressive. There was a Russian woman who died last year and she was 128 or something amazing. I admit I was hugely impressed but I didn't immediately leap to the conclusion that she needed a 1 or 2 year contract with Melbourne.

If he was fine with not being assured a game every week (I've forgotten how to begin to spell the word starting with G iwas going to use) I'd be ok with signing him.
