I’d seriously consider trading Tom Lynch as well if Rory Sloane walked out the door as well.

We have Darcy Fogerty ready to step into that role.

If we choose to trade Lynch, what would he be worth?

That would also give us close to $1.4 - $1.5 Million a year in salary cap space to recruit someone.
Trade Lynch because a rookie with no games under his belt, will be able to step in and perform to his level?

You crazy Alex :p

So let’s get this straight, you have a baby every time someone bags Jenkins and yet you’re prepared to see Lynch go?

If Sloane and Lynch are let go, surely, with what we have in the bank already, that must get us into Lukosius territory

o_O Rory Sloane and Lynch are worth 7 Lukosiuses. All draftees are a gamble no matter how good they look in the under18’s and as for pooling 1.5m to get a gun I’d rather 3 young 2nd or third year players with big upside. Like lynch was when we got him.

I'm hopeful that when Pyke talked about learning something from some of our player negotiations last year that he is talking about Jenkins and paying more attention to players' value and what they contribute when it matters most.

True. Lynch just really pissed me off because if you have the tank HHF is not that hard a role.

Hopefully gets a chance to redeem himself
Not sure HFF is that easy as no one really plays that role like Lynch does. He’s fairly unique in that regard

Port have recruited Watts to try to turn him into that type of player. Not many have the tank, the size, the IQ, the foot skills and the strong overhead hands to play it well. Watts has the attributes we’ll see if he’s got the smarts and toughness to play it

Agree. Jenkins must be such a momentum killer. you work so hard to get the ball down, trap and hold in the 50 only to see the great matador wave the opposition through shouting Ole as they rebound the ball out through his area

By that statement it's abundantly clear you've seen little or none of Darcy Fogarty actually playing. His game style is not even vaguely similar to Lynch. For starters it's highly unlikely he'll ever have the tank of Lynch to do the link up work which is Lynch's key role for us. If he replaces anyone in our forward line it will be in Tex's role as a hit up forward with grunt. Whenever Darcy's played forward the similarities to a young Walker have been there for everyone to see, he's a contested marking beast with a powerful and penetrating kick both far from Lynch's best attributes.

True. He does it well. Most of the time. But he let us down in the granny under only the pressure he created in his own head most of the time.

If he is anchoring on a 5 year deal like best mate JJ I wouldn't be buying what he's selling

In x amount of games, who ever replaces Lynch will have the same attributes?

My point wa, we have a young key forward who can add something if he left.

Sorry for trying to add anything. My bad

Blight was talking Grand Finals last night and you have to be prepared to do something different.

Maybe Lynch should have moved to half back and someone like a Brown up forward?

Despite everything I.m still unclear about Sloane's FA status. I predict we'll get rogered.

No I have not. I have never presented to be some footy god, unlike a few others who post and thing the sheep station will be in the post after winning an Internet arguement.

I love footy. I love the crows. I just want to discuss the game but I guess you have to be a boy to join your elusive boys club.

Or at least a plan B or C when it isn't working!
