That would have been against Geelong on the 22nd Sept 2017.

Oh wait a minute.....

Do you mean that game where he has 1 kick the whole first half, and then piled on a few cheap goals when the game was dust and we were well on top?

Yeah, that sounds like standard ****ing shit Jenkins dishes up.

So no, a terrible example in your case.

Played pretty darn good in the Prelim... and their are plenty of other Crows that have played poor finals games in recent times.. Tex is one...

Another one! That prelim was garbage, as I said another typical Jenkins games of contributing when it counts.

A yet you criticise Tex, who’s playing with a pretty serious foot injury and a broken finger. Yet still is up there in the COMPETITION, not just for the crows, in score involvements and assists, and also records the best I50 kick ever recorded by CD.

It’s not even a fair comparison and Tex still blows him out of the water!

No the Game where he received Votes for doing his job from the Coaches. He beat his man and he set up goals.

Why is every predictions thread always end up being about JJ??
Leave the poor guy alone!
The poor guy refused to sign and made sure he screwed every last $ out of our cap.

If your going to rate yourself highly enough to do that, then you better be ready for the critics when they question the return on a considerable investment

Isn't he on 525?

What? He's one of the lower paid key forwards in the league and he re-signed for about $200k less than what Brisbane was offering.

He can play well in pressure game, he was terrific in the low scoring scrappy game against Carlton at the G for example and was busting a gut to tackle and pressure.

A game against one of the worst sides in the AFL is not a "pressure" game.

- 1 contested possession 16 uncontested (and only 64% DE too which isnt great from those stats).
- 1 contested mark
- 0 goal assists
- 4 hit outs
- 0 tackles
- 4 goals (or 3 in junk time).

Yeah, that's a reaaaal solid game from Jenkins there.

It literally sums him up as to why he is such a liability come finals time. You dont pay a 200cm, 104kg forward 550k+ to deliver that...

Just going on current rules people are using to judge JJ, The Coaches seem to believe he won his position and he was involved in score assist.
Last time I brought up Stats I was told the Coaches vote was more important, Now you bring up stats, which way would you like to go what the Coaches want or the stats. then I will attempt to answer your original question again using your parameters.

Now is the time of year we hear about all the mystery injuries. Can't hide them any more.
My predictions were on the money.

We have added Brad Crouch and Gallucci to the injury list today. I expect two late withdrawals from the “squad” (possibly Milera and Talia or Sloane) and we are getting close to the truth. I will also be surprised to see McLovin make the trip to Strath.

Look to be honest, I'm not here to pick fights with individuals, im just stating the facts. (I also never mentioned anything about coahces votes? you may have me confused with someone else).

Jenkins kicks goals, there's no doubt about it. But my biggest gripe is that over the past 2 seasons, that's all he's done and nothing else.
And you may think I'm crazy for criticising him at the end of the day, it's only the scoreboard that matters. If everyone plays their role, then we all go home happy.

However, our defensive forward 50 pressure is lacking and we struggle to take contested grabs. Tex is getting double teamed and we need another forward to kick to and have none (thank christ for the emergence of Gov). Yet here we have a 200cm athletic key forward, who has taken our list manager to the cleaners and being paid a hefty sum, to play like freakin small forward.

And then the bigger problem, is that when we play those hotly contested finals/big games where it's so scrappy and there's minimal space, it pretty much renders Jenkins useless. He doesn't get involved around the ground and doesn't do a whole lot that brings his team mates around him into the game, where as someone like Tex does. He won't always get on the scoresheet, but he will bring players into the game for the same end result.

If this was the Jenkins of old, when he first broke onto the scene for the Crows and he was physical, he was busting his gut chasing people, he was bursting away from players, when he was actually getting involved, then I wouldnt have a problem.
But now he just sits out the back and waits for all our good work to fall into his lap and then register something on the scoresheet, and he gets paid a pretty penny to do so. He literally does nothing else.

If that's going to be the case and he's going to continue to stink it up in games that actually matter, then Id rather drop him and play Mcgovern at FF and an extra running midfielder, or we drop him for someone like Keath, who has actually hunger and desire and aggression.

It's all good and well to acknowledge his shortcomings, but bloody hell, the vitriol that many of you have towards for Jenkins is ridiculous.

Him and Mackay are probably our 2 biggest selection issues that we face at the moment. If we get those right (based on form) then it's probably going to be the first time in a long time that I will actually be happy with a settled 22 and feel each player has deserved their spot.

Not getting into the rest of the argument (Jenkins arguments are about as productive as a rocking chair race in my opinion), but we absolutely should be playing McGovern at FF. Let the man use his aerial skills to the advantage of our smalls. I feel like he found himself on the outskirts of the gameplan a bit much due to Tex and Jenkins being #1 and #2 targets which means the ball didn't go his way enough. To me Gov needs to be full time deep #1 FWD, crashing packs and taking marks. Nothing would please me more then to see other teams defenders refusing to be the spare man because they all new they would end up with Gov's knee embedded deeply into their spine a few times a game. Thats one of the attributes a great #1 forward should bring, fear to drop into the hole!
