Brodie, Tex, Brad, Gallucci, Greenwood, Knight are “injured”

This leaves eight players. I think we can assume that Sloane, Hartigan, Betts and Douglas are being rested (or are missing a limb).

Hence we can deduce (I hear the sound of Vader applying the white-out) that Jarman, Edwards, McPherson and Milera are ranked between 40 and 44 on our list.

A big fall for The Wayne, or is it possible that they “forgot” to mention he is also injured .

Reported in the other thread that McPherson has OP. Add him to the injury list, rather than the "bottom 4" list.

Even if he was in the bottom 4 right now, I would expect (hope) that he will rocket up the rankings by the end of the season.

So he's barely 5th out of 6 for score involvements with 6.3 with Gov on 6.6, Eddie on 7.3, Lynch on 7.8 and Tex on 8.2. The original claim is he doesn't do ANYTHING but suck up easy goals, he averaged more score involvements than Brad Crouch, CC, Richard Douglas, Sam Jacobs, Andy Otten, Rory Atkins, Hugh Greenwood, Riley Knight, David Mackay, but he doesn't contribute anything else than easy goals.

CC was criticised heavily last year but he is a big game player, who delivers ferocious defensive pressure and wasn’t a big money squib (the anti-Jenkins). Plus CC played first part of the year up the ground on the wing and still rotated out of the middle

McGovern is still barely a pup and still performed better than JJ last year. You watch him put daylight between himself and JJ

Fact is, out of a forward 6, it’s no amazing achievement to be ranked 7th or 8th in a forward metric

And the easy goals we get from him is because he busts a gut to run to burn off his opponent. Reckon opp coaches aren't TRYING to stop those? See someone say they're taher play a midfielder but a midfielder would have a midfielder on them and not be able to get free. Jenkins has a pretty rare pace for size and uses that. He's shit at 1-v-1 so doesn't use that.

Tell us to so we can all see what's so bad about him to warrant all this dislike.
Because I have a completely different opinion of him and his value to the club than you and few others.

Here's my analytical response regarding JJ:
I think the main problem is that people see a big bodied AFL player and they automatically assume that player should be doing bash and crash. The small bodied players should use their speed and save the bash and crash for the bigger bodied players to deal some damage.

However, in the real sporting world, small players can be slow as hell and use more the bash and crash style of play. Conversely, some big players like to use their speed as an advantage without doing much of the crash and bash. From my years of observation, JJ is the kind of player who uses his height and speed as an advantage, not the bash and crash style. Furthermore, if he does the bumping and bruising play, his speed would be affected, and this would then nullify his advantage in outrunning the defenders.

David Mackay tackles harder than JJ. Thats an indictment on JJ

Yep - Sanders and I have had this discussion for the last few years ... JJ is without doubt deserving of a whipping.

Potential means nothing. Filling in the gaps means nothing.

If JJ becomes the player he can be - if JJ decides that near enough is not good enough - then JJ could truly be an important member of our team.

While he coasts, does what he does, doesn't break any new ground, doesn't get uncomfortable - he is a liability.

Every end of season I try and find a way for us to move him on - every start of season I try and give him the benefit of the doubt that he can change his ways - every season he disappoints me.

I'm not so excited by the prospect of new JJ turning up in 2018. I'm now accepting that he has reached his potential.
