Good thing they didn't have to text their battle plans to one another in the middle ages.
Quoted because I couldn't like it twice :)

Is this a typo or is Riley talking in third person?

Good God are you serious? Every club gets leg and groin problems. Go through the injury lists and read. We are no worse than most clubs, it's the nature of the game.

As it turns out Talia is said to be playing this week possibly and Knight may miss one game. Talk about overreaction by you.[/QUOTE

Mmm....it was a bit over the top now that I read it again. I was having some brews that night, it must've gotten the better of me.:beermug:

As of this week's league injury list, there is an average of 1.5 hamstring injuries. Adelaide has 5 and I doubt it would have been under 3 all year. If I could find more data on injury lists and I could give a toss, I would do an average over the whole year /pre season and even last year. The data might already be there?!

Kyle Cheney was on abc radio before the crows game yesterday. The way he was talking it was like there's nothing happening that would change the length of his time before starting to play, that the remaining time was a mere formality. He said he would be right to play the week after we play the eagles, so in a fortnight, but that's a bye week due to the split round, so he'll return the week after in the SANFL. He said he'd go through a program of controlled gametime as well, something like 50% first game, then a step up the week after, at this point he went vague, like he didn't know how the ramp up would look and that's probably because they'll play it week by week then anyway.

Also, in the meandering conversation they had, they asked him what he'd be doing during the game. He said he was going to be in a box with the SANFL development players watching the firsts and showing them some of the things they were trying to achieve in defense.

There was also a hamstring expert on as well before our game. Out of whole AFL 140 ppl not playing due to injury 30 are for hamstrings. The way he was talking it indicated to me that he is in conversation with some various AFL parties and then from that, the reason they think the increase in hammies is happening is due to the increased demands of the game, more sprints.

I have my own thing that I'm wondering about with the hammies. If there is an increase in hammy injuries (which I haven't seen anyone confirm as yet), I wonder if it is due to temperature. That is, has the start to this season been colder than previous?

So basically we shouldn't expect Cheney to push for selection until about Round 12-14?

I doubt it very much.

Tex tweaked his in the practice game on 10 March when the maximum was 29 degrees.
Talia and Knight both got injured up on the Gold Coast where it's fairly warm.
Crouch and Lever were either in February or early March.
Even McGovern did his on what was a mild night for footy.

I doubt it. The control experiment for this is the Manuka match on Friday night! The unfortunate GWS guy did his by involuntarily doing the splits on landing: nothing to do with the temperature.

Weird I'm sure I saw something saying that Seed was a test and will likely return in the magoos this weekend.

If the supporters have learnt anything this year it's not believe anything re injuries a what is wrong with them and a return date there is a common theme occurring here

I wonder how much training he's actually done, can't believe the club is so quiet on him, they said they're just strengthening his groins so he can play without pain. What did he actually have? OP?

Do we know much about Seedsman? Can groins be that chronic? Seems like an odd thing to be out for almost a year.

Could be OP

I remember a few years back that this was all the rage. Many players had it and it could be quite nasty
The solution was to improve the players' core strength. At the time this meant getting them to do yoga exercises. Not sure how it's done these days.

Does Atkins have shoulder issues? I noticed a few times in yesterday's game, particularly in the first quarter, where he was the forced to contest in the North forward line and didn't get his arms up to spoil at all. He's done similarly in previous games too.

I'd think he's just bad at defending, except he barely got his arms up in his attempt at a spectacular hanger in the 3rd quarter either.

Both he and Matt Crouch have had minor shoulder strains this year. You'd notice Matt wearing significantly more tape.

Hadn't noticed any particularly incidents where Atkins wasn't able to get his arms up properly and can't say I want to really look at any footage from North game.
