Currently there are 24 hamstrings in AFL teams.

Collingwood and Freo have 3.
Geelong, Gold Coast, GWS, Hawthorn, Melbourne and WB have 2.
Adelaide, Brisbane, North, Richmond, Sydney and WC have 1.

It could just be... that hamstrings are a common injury in footy.

PS. Port only have ONE player on this injury list!

Smith didn't even have ice on his hammy on Saturday... he was sitting back, feet up with a relaxed look on his face happy to be resting.
if he misses we are in strife.
freo look daunting on paper.. Hill, Hill, Neale, Fyfe, Sandi, Walters & Mundy. they're in a lot better form than us.

Do we get to run with the injury list narrative against them this year?

"Just wait until you start getting players hurt" and all that jazz.

We certainly can. I recall last year the asterisk they put against all our wins which they dismissed due to not having injuries (like we should somehow be sorry for that fact) and beating up on shit teams but I assume it's different when they get the injury luck and shit teams to beat this year:rolleyes: Other than Ryder, they were only missing average plodders like Monfries and White - not exactly household names.

We need one of Hampton and Smith to be 100% for this weekend. Pray for Smith, or they could run all over us.

They have to start beating top eight teams before we talk up there injury luck.

So are we at any point going to get some answers regarding the Hamstring issue? What has changed at trainings? Has Burton brought back Craig's bikes? Was this something he used a lot in Brisbane when he was there (and they had a terrible injury record)?

My info has it that Knight's current injury is certainly more hamstring tightness than corky.

How much is enough?? What are we doing to combat this? Have we adjusted? Have we implemented more stretching/less weights? Are we doing anything or just ignoring the pattern and hoping for the best?? The hamstring injuries is not an 'event' by the way...

What would show the true story is games lost to hamstring injuries for the full season.

How can the delta for Smith be +1 week when he hasn't actually missed a game from the injury?

Wasn't Seedsman a 'buttock' before? When did it become a groin?

He's been a groin all year from what I remember. Pretty sure his first miss late last year, when he didn't play SANFL finals was a corked buttock, but it seems to have migrated around to his front over the preseason.

More hamstring soreness - I said it months ago jokingly but it's pretty much confirmed now. Hass has NFI - has to be sacked.

Considering that it is soreness and not an actual tear, that's a big difference. What that means is that he and our medical staff are actually on top of it now in terms of not risking the longer term major injury and we have players who are reporting the soreness asap. Lever missed one match. Knight missed one match. Tex missed one at the start of the season. And if you heard Tex the other week the issue is not the training but that there has been a change in the game style across the league and our players GPS are showing a 10% increase in running at speed during games from last season. That is a HUGE change that wouldn't have been predicted by any fitness team across the league. As Jenny pointed out hamstrings have been very common across the league this year so far already, there is your evidence. Hass is not the one who has NFI.
