I read somewhere in the other thread, there was an article that stated Betts had keyhole surgery, not an abdominal cut surgery. That would explain why Betts had recovered within 1-2 weeks. Sloane's would be thereabouts to the Betts scenario, hopefully.

This thread needs a bump to give updates on the McGovern situation.
Just got home from a night out and read a few pages from the other thread regarding McGovern's hamstring tightness/injury. Just checked the official Crows website and it states there will be further medical tests. I'm guessing they need to wait on a scan to get more an idea the extent of the injury.
I think it's best we wait on official news before we all go in panic mode and total forum meltdown.
Here's a few possible scenarios while waiting for the official club report:
- hamstring "tightess" - can possibly still play next Friday.
- (typical) hamstring strain - anywhere between 1-3 weeks
- hamstring tear (mild) - 4-6 weeks
- severe tear - 6-10 weeks.

Let's just hope it's only a tightness or a slight strain. Hoping he can still play in GF if not the PF.

Anyone who has official sources, can you please update via this thread?
It's getting confusing who to believe and what's actually going on via other threads.

Report on AFC website saying he has had scans and that it's looking unlikely he'll play Friday but if we win a good chance for the GF.

FFS. That will cause some deliberation on selection.

Who comes in? I have no idea what they'll do :-( We cannot afford to lose the pressure in our forward half ... so maybe Douglas goes up to half-forward and Hampton comes into the middle?

It was quoted yesterday by the Club that McGovern was doing some jogging. Probably fair to say he won't be playing this week's game. However, if he can jog comfortably this week, he might still be a very good chance to play next week, if we make it to the GF.
In a way, this might work out ok for us. All 22 players would want to play at their best knowing that a GF spot is up for grabs, and a McGovern is lurking in the shadow.

You can deal with glandular fever if it's not too bad. Best case scenario he'll just be feeling a bit tired, but it's something he'll be able to work through.
Probably thankful it's not super hot currently, it would knock him out pretty quick.

Good to see Mitch a tad late with his info
Was there any info prior to this?

Typical AFC media announcement. Don't announce anything until they can slant it as good news.

Back in training!

Huh? No one knew he was out.

We can never rest easy as fans

Even when things are smoooooooth sailing on the surface we're wondering what are they desperately keeping in house now?

Walker ankle surgery. Gee, I wonder if that happened early in the Essendon game, and impacted his form from that point on?
I reckon it hindered Walker since that Essendon game more than we think. I also read somewhere he had his hand strapped during that Essendon game too, so maybe the finger surgery was from all the way back in that unlucky Essendon match?

Also, what is it with Lynch and his affinity for viruses?? Luckily though, he seems to cope well when contracting them. Hope he pulls a blinder during his first game in 2018!
