Janus on the MB coming out from under her rock saying our position in the 8 is looking precarious. Well still finish ahead of those flogs.
It is precarious if we keep up with these injuries.

I bet it’s portraying some sort of foresight as to how our season is going without any consideration of our injuries? To be even in the 8 is huge given our injuries.

Lol, Port would be 18th on the ladder if they had the same number and quality of players missing from their 22. They are an injury or two away from playing spuds like Toumpas/Trengove/Mckenzie FFS:rolleyes:.

+1

They lost Ryder for a few weeks and it basically crippled them.

Not only the number of injuries but the quality of the players injured. Not many teams could lose that quality and still be mainly competitive. Apart from 2 really shitty games where we’ve been totally crap, we were in a winning position in our losses. Should never have lost to Essendon and though undermanned, should also have beaten Port.

Koch saying that they want to play a Vic team next year in China because “it’s important to expose other clubs to China”

Yeah. Like that’s the reason:rolleyes:

Oh and it hasn’t cost them a cent, it’s an investment not a drain.. and in coming years they hope to get a return on their investment

So it has cost you money

But

But

Broadbent ....

Liverpool fans shouldn’t forget Steven Gerrard’s shocker that cost them the premier league.
First of all ... **** you for bringing that up :'( Gerrard never deserved that to happen to him when he had lifted us to the edge of the title.

Secondly, Gerrard had a few more runs on the board than Karius ... but we were done once Salah was injured, and replaced by Lallana.

I was actually looking forward to us playing a big final with a decent goalie for a change !! The first goal was bad luck with bad awareness, the second goal was a fluke, the third was poor concentration.

Goal keepers make mistakes and they cost you goals. Other players make mistakes all the time, they just don't show up so clearly on the scoreboard.

They're good at trading maybe. Haven't been too impressed with their drafting, they bring in a lot of spuds and struggle to develop
Cats have a 72% win-loss record over the last 10 years. They must me doing a lot right.

They had one of the best teams of all time on the back of several wonderful drafts when they finished near the bottom, plus lots of father son picks
Their recent drafting and development as those guys are retiring has not been great, but while the champs have still been playing, the team has been good. Seems like a cliff is approaching though

playing half the games in Geelong against interstate teams and lower ranked Vic teams would help towards that win-loss %
The Cats also have the best win-loss of any team at the MCG (60%) or Etihad (67%) in the AFL (1990-2018).

It's crazy that Essendon hasn't played in Tasmania or Canberra at all in the last 28 years. Zero games at any of the 'smaller' stadiums

We've played in Tasmania 7 times now, but Geelong just once, Collingwood never, Carlton twice, Melbourne twice, Richmond 3 times

Overall we've been sent to the 'smaller' stadiums as the away team 10 times. Collingwood once. Essendon never. Carlton 3 times.

I've heard this all before, but every year they defy the critics.

They had 3 FS picks going on 20 years ago for 2 of them.

They have stayed at the top with the ability to attract good talent (Danger, Tuohy, Henderson). Their mid-age players look decent enough compared to most other teams (Duncan, Stewart, Tim Kelly, etc). Don't see a reason why they would plunge more than any other team. Might go to be a mid-table side but their home ground pretty much ensures they won't hit the bottom.

They have played in what, 8 GFs and a dozen prelims in the last 20 years? Can't see a collapse incoming.

Yes, it is crazy. That spreadsheet snippet only includes the currently used grounds. Footy Park, Subiaco, etc. are missing - but they are included in the Totals.

I love to beat them like crazy, but you have to admire the Geelong footy club for their staying power.

The AFL figures since non-Victorian sides have to jump on a plane every second week we might as well be the ones to send to exotic locations. Meanwhile, Victorian clubs with large supporter bases get to stay home for their "away" games to help boost attendances for other Victorian teams.

Ideally non-Victorian sides who finished the previous season in the top eight and close to it should have as many of their away games in Melbourne as possible, and preferably at the MCG, to get familiar with the surroundings (stadiums, hotels, etc.).
