"If we finish in the 8 and they finish bottom 2 the FA compo will outweigh anything they could get from us so we wont have to trade, if both clubs finish toward the bottom of the ladder we're screwed."

Try and keep up.

"a slightly different scenario re: Danger with the Crows finishing in the 8 (6th or 7th from memory) meaning even the best compo wouldn't have surpassed Geelong's pick 8 or 9 (from memory)."

Pay attention.

If the pies can trade Williams to North for pick 105... they can trade a Greenwood or Broomhead to GC for pick 105.

If the pies can trade in Murray from Swans for a 2nd round pick then they could trade in a GC player for overs too.

If the pies can trade in Tim Golds to give GWS salary cap space as the clincher in the Treloar deal, they could do the same with GC as a means to preventing GC matching a bid on Lynch.

None of this is draft tampering. Just part of the trade scenarios clubs throw up. Otherwise multiple clubs would be guilty of draft tampering every trade period.

No it's not, the Crows matched the deal forcing Geelong to trade as they knew they could get more from a trade, they didn't get the FA compo as well.

If the Crows matched wouldn't he still be a Crow?

If you match the deal FA compo is removed from the table, it then becomes a trade like any other trade.
Just an FYI, no formal FA offer was made or matched with Dangerfield. Geelong went straight to the trade table because they already knew that Adelaide was more than capable (and willing) of matching what they were offering Danger. It’s part of why they deal was done so quickly, they didn’t have to go through the whole bidding/matching FA process first.

Max King carried from field playing for Haileybury College http://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-04-21/no1-contender-max-king-suffers-suspected-knee-injury

Such unfortunate news for such a talented youngster. Hopefully not a major injury. I wish him a speedy return. However, this might turn into a Ryan Burton situation, were a team in the teens end up with a potential top 3 prospect.

You hope for King it's not an ACL.

If it is, it opens up the possibility that a Collingwood, Geelong or Melbourne mid first round could get him, as someone who otherwise would be a top 2/3 choice. Any of the three clubs could reasonably take the long term plunge with drafting of key forwards not about what they can produce in season one, but rather what they can do 4+ years from now.

Even if an ACL, Max King looks definitely worth the punt if Pies finish with a pick 5-10. With McLarty, Stephenson, Scharenberg... we have a history of taking young blokes post injury. Otherwise pray that key positional utility Ben King slips.

With Murray, WHE, Stephenson and hopefully running Quaynor to come...we've filled a few positional needs in the last couple of seasons.

But with only McLarty and Moore as our under 23 KPPs... we need another quality KPP this draft... if we can get our hands on one. F/S Will Kelly seems to be a bit more of a project player

Lukosius dominates the SANFL again. Be interesting to see who will go number 2 now.

Bad luck for Max King its a shame but I'm sure he will bounce back being young and top Dr's to do the surgery.

Good news for his brother Ben, as he was swung fwd and kicked 11 goals! He was last heard saying whilst making his way from defense:

Lazy 11.

Apex36 mike123 123 Scodog10 Might be that the best King twin hasn't been allowed to fully shine although his game earlier in the month in defense was nothing to sneeze at either:
Brother Ben King was just dominant at the other end of the ground, finishing with 20 disposals, 11 intercept possessions and nine marks (four intercept and four contested) while he also snuck forward for a goal.

Lukosius is leaving football following his girlfriend to Iceland.

Not playing anymore. Love will Out.

Ive actually quietly been on the Ben>Max bandwagon for a little while now, mostly because I think with the anti congestion rules it’s actually tougher being a defender in the TAC than a forward. That’s just my opinion though. Still would want Lukosious ahead of them both though.

Same thought about Ben when l watch the game against Oakleigh
Thought his kicking action was better than his brothers. If we got one,l would not complain
