A few words from Wells on our selections:
Geelong Falcons captain Cooper Stephens was taken a few picks before most draft experts predicted when Geelong pounced at pick 16.
But Cats recruiting boss Stephen Wells couldn't be happier to have landed Stephens and Dandenong Stingray Sam De Koning.
On Stephens, who broke his leg earlier this year, Wells said: "As it turned out the break wasn't too bad. By the end of the year he tested very well at the combine."
Wells said the Cats were bullish about De Koning's versatility.
"He was an All-Australian as a full back in the Under-18 championships this year but has potential to be a forward or a ruckman as well," Wells said.
