Will Kelly is a genuine chance for a debut this week ($124k forward). He's a tall forward, so don't expect much, but the way we play (with literally no forward line), he might find himself on a wing

Sier is also in good shape, good chance he plays this weekend. Pricey at $243k, but if he gets bulk midfield minutes, he'll score well

Price will deter many/most from Stephens. Classy mid who is labelled outside by the lazy, but in reality is both. Played plenty of senior footy last yr in SANFL and impressed immediately.
Warner a different proposition. Ball terrier that will throw himself at anything. Be surprised if he isnt in a scrap first game out. Great price. Could be a solid scorer if Horse tells him to cause some havoc and have a crack, rather than give him a role.

I dont think Horse would bring in Stephens until content to give him a proper run. I'm actually expecting Warner to score better than Stephens initially if he doesnt give away 3 or 4 free kicks in the contest. Its good coz we wont be spending $190K on a rook unless we get a good look first.

Rankine good news but never seen anything of him. Man of Mystery. Great having a fresh fwd rook.

Looks like it's going to be a great week for debuts:

- Rankine all but confirmed for the Suns
- Sydney will debut Dylan Stephens & Chad Warner ($117k MID)

Stephens is an outside mid/winger who is speedy with a beautiful left foot , think Gaff/Isaac Smith. He has played senior SANFL footy too, but price is awkward in the 180k range.

Warner is the one I'm interested in in terms of SC, he's an inside mid who loves the contest and a cuddle, and nicely priced at 117k.

Edit: Bollox beat me to it

Bollox Thuggee_Cult any idea if and when Gould might debut?
Dane Rampe said (radio this week) that Gould was close. What he failed to say was that Gould played a very ordinary scratch match on the weekend. Butchered chances he had and long periods gone missing.
If i had to guess, 2 more weeks at earliest, potentially a month or more based upon the weekend. Even with Melican back out (injured), Brand will come in for him.
Ling (1st rnd pick 2018) another that played an ordinary scratch match.
Warner kicked 3 in the match and may be in to play a defensive fwd role. Not SC friendly, but does get involved. Tackling machine.
Sinclair hyperxed his knee last week and likely miss another. Serious ruck problems.

So far we have this
Outs: Ronke + Melican definites. Neither are huge losses at this point. Potential Hayward to be omitted also on poor form.
Ins: Stephens Warner definites. Brand highly likely.

Upshot, unless further injuries, doubtful Gould will debut in short term based on form shown.
McInerney had a lousy game, but good chance he'll survive the cut this week. 50/50. Looks like Horse wants some changes after a shocker.

Thanks for that hopefully we'll get a DEF rookie soon.

$123K Forward

COLLINGWOOD could be tempted to unleash a key-position debutant, with father-son recruit Will Kelly in the mix to face Hawthorn on Friday night.

Kelly, the son of Collingwood premiership player Craig Kelly and brother of Adelaide defender Jake Kelly, was taken with Pick 29 in the 2018 draft but was hampered by injury during his first season at the Pies.

But the utility has been impressing at scratch match level in recent weeks, including a three-goal haul against Essendon’s reserves recently.

With Mason Cox continuing to struggle up forward, Kelly could be in the selection mix.

“He’s creative and got some real tricks and kicked another bag (in Friday’s scratch match against Essendon) and looks like he’ll be a real player of the future for us,” Magpies assistant Sanderson said on AFL Nation.

“He’s a really good size and super fit so he will definitely play senior footy this year.”

KPP Rookies are always slow burners and even with the talent the King brothers have they are not very SC friendly unless they kick 3-4+ goals and that is a rarity.

Big blokes need time when they are young.
Absolutely agree ....no KPP

That said King is proving an exception ......but they're a rarity

Both King brothers are going to be stars of the comp very soon.

I thought they might be too skinny and get pushed around too much .....but their judgement an timing of marks are elite

Neither have played any elite Essendon defenders yet though.

BKing would have actually been a good choice to start, not that anyone would have done so.
220k round 1
4 scores 59-74, 1 outlier @ 130, averaging 78
made $140k

You'd be trading him directly to Whitfield for 75k
