Brown being described in these parts as a "60 goal a year forward" almost as much as Aaron Edwards kicking 100 goals for West Coast that year

Sure looks like a 60 goal a year fwd to me...

Is that purely in home and away rounds? How does that look if you remove goals kicked in the finals????

Small sample size I know, but I like the fact he laid 7 and 6 tackles in the games when he had his least disposals. I really rate that in a player, can't get hold of the pill, make an impact on the game in other ways and a lot of time thats just a mindset.
His role got changed. He was tried out in a tagging role

North fans: when Ben Cunnington is injured/gets tagged, we are exposed as he has to do too much
Also North fans: we can't recruit a player that plays the same position as Ben Cunnington
This. We're basically a shell when cunnington isn't around or is being tagged. I love him but no one would be surprised if he pulled the pin early and went for a life of fishing and farming.

Even if we're mildly interested in him, I'd play any interest down and make Geelong come up with a proper trade for Higgins.

Letting them throw their Queen of Spades in Constable at us lets them out of paying up properly.
Problem we have with playing hardball though is that we need to be mindful of doing the right thing by Higgo as well.

After all we are the ones who told him that we wouldn't be extending his contract beyond next year so he was welcome to explore his options.

We therefore don't hold a lot of power in this situation I wouldn't have thought.

The posters shitting on Constable were saying the same thing about Butler when he was leaving Richmond.

Calling him a VFL player, plodder, and "we have Kayne Turner" :drunk:

We've kneecapped ourselves if that's the case. Very poor reading of the landscape.

He's got a year to run and we don't owe him a rollover year.

You like your athletically gifted players.

You ignoring his inability to outrun a goal umpire?

I like his ability to find the ball. Cunnington isn't exactly a speed merchant. Not to mention he prob comes in last every year during the time trials.

I want someone in the coal face feeding it out to LDU, Simpkin and co. over the next 10 years.

Someone that has years put into his body and on the track is even better

Those figures include finals, which clearly Brown did not play in any of those years (but every other player on the list did). Here's what it looks like with just H&A:

20174846624465504563
2018582682034654361

202042323283128248
TOTAL:200 (#1)117 (#7)80 (#8)146 (#6)174 (#4)159 (#5)179 (#3)196 (#2)

So Brown is still 2nd, but is only 4 goals behind Hawkins who kicked 42 for the year. Even with a shit year Brown is still far and away in the top 2 Key fwds in the comp, and if he hadn't got injured it's not much of a stretch to say he probably would've kicked at least 4 more goals for the year which would make him the clear number 1.

Isn't it great that we are trading Brown at his lowest trade value in years? Truly superb timing
It's not like he wasn't offered a very good contract and refused what was on offer...

Cunnington always had impeccable ball skills, strength in the contest and vision to offset his pace.

Constable doesn't have enough promise in those categories to do the same imo.

If we get him, I hope like heck I'm wrong.

sh*t. We might get that forward we need after all.

Yippee a shorter fatter Kayne Turner.
Anyway, I'd be more than happy to have Butler - held back in the best forward system in the league and would be very cheap.
Sorry KC. When it comes to mods and list management. I back in Filth
