I'm talking about the past decade.

Only simpletons believe China is still communist. On a level with people who call Nazis socialists.
Xi is obsessed with Marx. China is turning back to Marxism. Capitalism is going backwards since Xi took over. You cant claim they arent leftists.

Bloomberg cant be in the debates, as it doesnt meet the donor criteria (and he isnt going to do the dodgy bumper sticker shtick that Steyer did)

He is in the next debate, he bought his way in. Pretty sure he only needs one more approved poll that polls him at 10% and he's in

I thought the DNC made an exemption for him?

last i heard there are no exceptions

a few lobbied when only the white candidates were making the grade (yang later got in), but were knocked back

He is in the next debate, he bought his way in

how did he do it?

I know Steyer did it by selling trump stickers, and if you bought a sticker it counted as a donation

*edit - just googled, DNC agreed to remove the donor requirement for a couple of the upcoming debates on the 1st (missed it with all the impeachment s**t going on)

Still think a massive amount of stars would need to align for Bernie to become the Dem nominee

He'd need to do very well in Nevada and more importantly SC, yet at the same time hope Warren would drop out and her voters would magically go in his favour. He'd need to build a real head of steam as to sway the latter states in his favour in order to have a chance at a delegate majority

More than likely though, it's gonna be contested, what a s**t show it's gonna be in June

It won't be Buttigieg or Biden, more than likely be Bloomberg

He'll win Nevada. Biden tanking will make South Carolina close but I'd say it's a toss up. A fortnight ago SC was a lock for Biden.

Plus Sanders is ahead in Texas which blew me away. He will win California handily.

Warren is finished. Buttigieg and Klobuchar don't have wide appeal and essentially no minority vote, and can't win the nomination.

If Biden can't win South Carolina he's cooked.

Sanders is definitely in the box seat.

Watching MSNBC and CNN pushing hard for Bloomberg as their last shot at holding on will be a sight to behold. First it was O'Rourke. Then Harris. Then it was Warren. Then it was Biden. Now it's Buttigieg and Klobuchar. Anyone but Sanders!

They are the Never Sanders-ers ;)

Geezus, give over, their employers don't pay for it, they do, in the form of lower wages.

And it only serves to give the employers even more power, as people are not only reliant on their jobs for their income, but also for their basic health care. Removing this would be the start of rebalancing the utterly awful employment relations in the US, and can be followed by a push for good pay rises.

Yeah Tom Perez changed the rules for him

The US health system is expensive and inefficient. It must be protected because universal healthcare = communism apparently.

Do you think employees actually realise that? Australians dont have any idea that the 9 percent super they pay reduces their wage.
Some probably do, some probably don't.
But the fact remains that switching from private to public does not cost them money; and if their unions aren't too corrupt, they'll end up with more money.

Just a bit of fairy floss motherhood for the masses with no present or foreseeable practical consequences.
As the article says
Today, China, the largest self-identified socialist country, outwardly displays all the trappings of a modern capitalist society, from rampant consumption to a massive gap between the urban elite and rural poor.

The apparent contradiction between party rhetoric and appearance has prompted many analysts to suggest the party is no longer really motivated by Marxism but puts practical and economic concerns above all else.

This was true in china before Xi. But Xi wants to move back. He is strengthening the state owned enterprises again and has stopped all western economic reforms previously on the agenda. He developed Xi thought as the start of a new way to counter western capitalism/liberalism and has largely eradicated the wisdom of Deng from the party.

Who are the masses in China that want Marxism? Chinese people want capitalism. They dont want to go back to the poverty of the 60s and 70s that Deng freed them from. Its only ideological leftist nationalist elites like Xi and his cronies that want Marxism.

Nothing even remotely identifiable as Marxism, just a more repressive state capitalism

Money? What? We are talking about health services. The public health system does not deliver the same service the private one provides.
