Dow, yes. The others have work to do.Dow, Kemp, Stocker just look so much better than the rest....
disagree - 'the rest' actually won the game for the team - and that takes nothing away from dow who I think had a strong gameDow, Kemp, Stocker just look so much better than the rest....
hmmm. That is interesting. Seen Hamilton in seniors or O'Halloran in seniors earlier in season. If it the player I thinking I saw, that player I quite like the look of and seemed a real goer. What is? He’s being tagged by Hamilton. Who has had 5 disposals and 7 tackles. Hamilton couldn’t be less interested in getting the ball. Not many players tag like that at afl level - they tend to have run with roles.
Dow hasn’t stopped trying at all- matter of fact ran 100m hard back to tackle Hamilton and stop a shot on goal towards the end of the half.
I’m impressed with his effort. In my mind he’s currently winning his match up easily and that’s what you ask of each player.
Now youre talking....Might sound odd to say but one of your better games Paddy Dow. Just wrapt for him. Intensity high. Running to afl standard.
I haven’t been one of these ‘get him in has to play’ types every week.
But
Get him in.

If Dow taking on the challenge good for him.
Stats show Corey Durdin in it. Did he play because he was named in seniors?
Can only assume at moment it a mistake on AFL site and it was meant to be Sam Durdin in the stats.
Hamilton had he’s back to the contest facing Dow with an arm half by around him most of the time, Dow should’ve been given a handful of free kicks which wasn’t picked up or payed by the umpires accordingly…Looks like he is trying to play that first receiver role mentioned and has NFI how to break the tag. Hamilton is a running machine, probably better than Cotts. Dow not concentrating on the pill. Think the coaches need to put Paddy in the engine room where he is more accustomed to a tag.(as in at the drop of the ball)
There will be 4 or 5 clubs lining up to get him......for a 3rd round draft pick...... or wait another year to get him for freeTo be honest, Dow is too good to be languishing in the VFL week in, week out. Unfortunately, he can't break into the current midfield setup for love nor money. However, if he can cop a hard tag all night, and still get 22 and 2, he might get looked at by some other clubs (North being the main one I reckon).
I've also said often that Dow doesn't seem the type to get the hump and demand a trade. But that being said, if the club gets a monster offer for him... what do they do?Dow is doing what is asked of him and he loves the club. He wants to get better and really earn his position in the firsts.
Coach and player are on the same page and he isn't disgruntled and knows he has weaknesses and is working on them.
Great game again tonight Paddy.
The club won't be getting a monster offer. He will be pursued by clubs but he is very passionate about doing what our coaches are having him work on. The kid wants to get better and knows his time will come. He's taking it all in his stride and good on him.I've also said often that Dow doesn't seem the type to get the hump and demand a trade. But that being said, if the club gets a monster offer for him... what do they do?
If a club comes with a 2 year extension and Carlton doesn't offer a contract extension, he'd be dumb not to request a trade.I've also said often that Dow doesn't seem the type to get the hump and demand a trade. But that being said, if the club gets a monster offer for him... what do they do?
