Wonder if the club seeks out rowbottoms interest in a move.

He’s clearly lost his midfield role and it won’t get any better as guys like Errol, Campbell , jmac etc come in.

Rowbottom is a hard worker but unfortunately if he doesn’t have a mid role he is extremely limited in his abilities. Playing as a small forward isn’t the answer

Might be the case tbh.....he is a great tackler and applies heaps of pressure but very limited in what he can do.

If we assume he’s on the afl average , that’s at least 600k+ being tied up in a bloke being played out of position.

Good luck to Chris Keane sorting the wheat from the chaff. There does not appear to be any stand outs this year from the academy but there does seem to be at least half a dozen decent prospects. Then there have been a few VFL guys showing promise. And that's before the talent from the rest of the country. Suspect we will all be talking about the one (or three) that got away from 2026.

Inevitable. If we choose acceptable talent for future need I'll be happy.

If we're short sighted maybe. Better to try and get him back to past form because our other mids aren't as good as him in the things he does best. He helped turn the Dees game and it's mystifying why we've used him less while our midfield struggles. Or if he's struggling with something, why we don't properly manage him.

From what it sounds like his reaction to being floated in possible trades last year was a resounding no and possibly more than that given Blakey's posting. That might change if we don't smarten up.

He played this game as a defensive forward to try to keep Aliir accountable. We don't have anyone else who can do that role since Hayward went.

Been saying it for the last 18-24 months at least, that we need the best 190-195cm contested midfielder we can get because we are still putting impact outside midfielders in the centre hoping that even though we go -5 at clearances ours will be more impactful.
